Sanath Jayasuriya is one of the most devastating batsman in the world. He is currently the most capped one day player and holds the record for the most number of sixes in the one day game. He revolutionized the one day game. He is one of the best strikers of the ball at the moment even at the age of 37. He was born in a poor village in Sri Lanka with limited facilities. Every day afterschool he played beach cricket. It is hard to hit sixes in the beach and that is where his bottom hand and power came from. This world cup 2007 is the last time we are going to see him in a world cup. You can share your views and anything about Sanath Jayasuriya here.

Fantastic player and one of the good one day players I have always admired lots.He is having a superb hand power and can hit any difficult balls to the areas where ever he wanted to.I dont want himto retire from cricket after world cup.Even if he is 37 which is old for a cricketer,I think he has lot of cricket left in him.He is in superb form too.I think his blasting batting alone can guide lanka to the second world cup victory...

I think the same. He shouldn't retire. You are right he can single handedly win games for Sri Lanka. I forgot to mention about his bowling. I'll see if I get anymore replies. You are in the line for the best response.

He is a good player, i agree, but i don't think he is the best simply for the reason, his record against any other top team is really not so good. He has a good track and batting record against india but not so good with other nations. But on his day, he could be really devastating batsman and a nightmare to the bowlers.

the sentence is true to its words sameera.jayasuriya is no doubt the most devastating player of international cricket.his sixes are like rockets going in sky.huge sixes are his passion.in any match if he comes in form then the opposition becomes hopeless.we should not forget his contribution in the 1996 worldcup.after his marriage he lost his form for few years but now he is a danger to any opposition.i compare the players as
sanath jayasuriya of srilanka
sachin tendulkar of india
brian lara of west indies
herschelle gibbs of south africa
shahid afridi of pakistan
ricky ponting of australia
stephen fleming of newzealand
kevin pietersen of england
as the most devastating players of world cricket
