large number is better or the small in the bracket beside the name in mylot?

I cannot understand about the number beside the name in the brackets. What is that number. I think it is not the registration number, since it changes everytime. Large number is better or smaller is better and how?

this is simply the number of posts you have responded to since you joined mylot, it is also the basis of your earnings so its a good idea to get it as high as you possibly can. When you get to 100 posts you will also get a star showing how you are thought about by the rest of the mylot community blessed be

I was confused about that. But i cannot understand about the star. what does the star symbolizes and what is the number in the star? How to increase the number?

the star is a result of your mylot reputation. If you float the cursor over a star you will see the actual percentage too. This is just the percentage of plus ratings your responses you have got blessed be
