The Resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth: Is it True or Hoax?

The whole Christendom just celebrated Easter. But what really happened 2000 years ago? Did Jesus, a carpenter, a rabbi, a healer and who profess to be the Son of God really rose from the grave? Or did his disciples steal the body to make it appear that there was a resurrection? Who removed the huge stone that covers the mouth of the cave and why didn't the Roman soldiers who are legendary for their discipline and bravery didn't notice such commotion? Can Jesus pushed it with the condition he was in? Was it the apostles, just so it would appear that their fallen leader, indeed, had risen back to life? But why would they lie and sacrifice their lives (most of them suffered horrible deaths) if everything was a lie? These are just some questions that hopefully will start this discussion going and, hopefully, will start the stone rolling to open our eyes on what really happened that fateful Easter morning.

Before you answer this question, you must asked yourself do you really believe in God. Answer this question first then you will know if it is true or hoax.

Yes, I agree that one must have faith. I just wanted to point out that our faith is not the kind of faith that one has to swallow everything that has been told them - all hook, line and sinker. Christianity is an intelligent faith. I threw the question so that those people who don't believe in Jesus would try to disprove the resurrection hoping they would come to a realization that Jesus is what He said He is, and that is the Son of God.

I'm glad you raised this question and by the flow of the discussions here, it seems to me that you are trying to say something. And that is, if resurrection is true, God is real and should be believe in and if resurrection is false, then God is not true and believing in Him is useless. Am I correct? Well, I believe in God and I believe on the resurrection not because I have to be convinced but because I have faith. Without faith you cannot please God! Although, come to think of it, I don't think resurrection can be disproven. There were hundreds of studies conducted on this and no one seems to be able to disprove it. On the other hand, those who started to find ways how to disprove the resurrection ended up believing in the resurrection, hence, becomes believers in God. Way to go, brother!

Yes, the resurrection is very much true, as you said people would not dedicate their whole lives and then sacrifice it for their belief, they did it because they were believed and had the faith, many a times faith does everything for you, all depends upon how much faith you have... many a times in our life there is so many miracles happening with us but we don't notice them as we have taken many a things for granted. And taking us away from believing what is really good and can bring a good change in our life is work of the devil... and my faith helps me from being away from the devils work...

Thanks for the response, Magnel. You are right, our faith in God will bring us through this life and would keep us away from the works of the devil and temptations of this world.

The resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth is true. Otherwise, there will be no resurrection and everything are nothing. We know everything because we have known that from the Holy Bible. Without the Holy Bible, we are nonsense.

if you doubt the existence of God and His Son well its a matter between your conscience and belief. and i know you believe that the resurrection was a hoax based on the substance of your topic. then tell me my friend your own version of resurrection and please support it with evidence/s...

Thanks. As Apostle Paul said If resurrection never happened, we are all of men most miserable. Why? Because our faith's very foundation will be shaken and torn. But Christ is the solid rock we stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

hey bosing, please read my response to varnum (#4) and you will see where i stand. And to make myself clear, I believe in the resurrection and I have faith in God. I threw the question just so those people who don't believe in Jesus would try to dispute the resurrection and would find themselves believing in Jesus, instead. Why? Because, resurrection is true and nobody can disprove it! thanks for the feedback.

It depends on which side are you into. If you really do not know, maybe there is an explanation or teaching to be done in an appropriate time and place. But if you are one who just do not want to belive, there will be no amount of explanation or teaching or what ever, will be appropriate.

I'm glad that I sounded neutral (or probably naive)when I opened this discussion string. It was my intention for everyone who would think seriously on this issue to come face to face with his own destiny. For the reader to think: What if Jesus IS what He claims to be? Did I do something about it? Is my eternal destiny depends on who HE is? What do I think of him? Do I see him as a prophet, a man or God? Is he a liar or a Messiah as what he claimed to be? All this can be answered if the resurrection issue can be proven true or false. I dare ask anyone to research on it and share your findings!
