Your eyesight

Has it changed quite a lot? I always had excellent eyesight. But in the last few years I have noticed a big difference. ABout 5 years ago I got my first pair of reading glasses, but they don't really do much for me now. Small print is really impossible for me to read even with the glasses. I know that I am getting older and there is a tendency to change. I also know that I am at the computer for many hours each day and I heard it does put a big strain on the eyes. Each day I read and write a lot, often trying to decipher what some 10 year old with a minuscule printing wrote. I think I notice the difference more because my eyesight used to be so good. Now it just frustrates me. I have a bit of trouble getting used to glasses and often forget to use them LOL In the morning when I wake up it seems to be worse than after I am awake for a while, but even so I have been noticing that it is getting worse. At first it was just the little print in medicine bottles that I had trouble seeing, now even normal printing sometimes seems a bit blurry. I remember some of my friends telling me that after 40 I would really notice a difference in my eyesight and I guess they really knew what they were talking about because it's exactly what happened. How's your eyesight?

I got glasses and did eye exercises or vision training when I was six. I went without glasses a couple of years, due to some bad advice. My eyes are getting worse. I have blended bifocals. I really have a hard time seeing at times. I know that being on the computer a lot does not help me. I am over 50. I have never tried contacts. I have astigmatism and am far sighted.

My eyes have needed glasses since I was in the 5th grade. Just this past year in my 46th year I was tested and found to have the need for bifocals. I am thankful I found a website that I was able to get my glasses, wire rim, bifocal for only 138 dollars. With expedited shipping I think it was an excellent deal. I have the link on my profile page and can save you another 10 percent if you like. My eyesight has been very stable although the need for glasses was there. Good luck with your eyesight.

I rely on my eye glasses to see this screen now. My eye glasses are very strong, as I'm losing my vision, specially my right eye. After turning 40, my vision has been getting a lot worse and I can't drive at night any longer.

well.. what could i say.. i have always had 20-20 vision... but i can really feel my vision slowly been deteriorating. i had been in my job for more than three years now and eversince i have started i have been in front of the computer everyday for 8 to 9 hours... so i guess that's how my vision is being affected... but i still can see fine prints although i couldn't hardly recognize people a couple of meters away unlike before.

I first starting wearing glasses at the age of seven. I'm very near sighted. So much so that when I got my first pair I finally saw the "man in the moon" and stars. I always thought my siblings were teasing me on that. I discovered that the teacher wrote on a big board at the front of the room. It was an eye opener, no pun intended. At thirteen I was told if my eyes did not stop their progression I would be beyond correction by the time I was thirty. Very scary to hear at that age that you would be blind later in life. They started me on contacts to help slow the progression. It did help and they finally stablized for the most part in my twenties. I just recently went to the eye doctor and the one eye is a bit worse but I'm still able to wear contacts and they can correct them so I'm happy, I'm 38 by the way so I beat the one prediction. Hopefully I will never be beyond correction.

I have worn glasses since I was 15 . At first they just let me see better for up close and distance. When I turned 40 I needed reading glasses. Soon after that I changed to progressive lenses. I really liked them and they worked well. Then about 2 years ago they were not adequate any more. I still wear progressive lenses, but they now have three ranges reading, computer and distance . I also have a magnifying glass for really print on medicine bottles - I am not sure any glasses can help us see print that small .

my eyesight was excellent almost a year back and now for the past few months i have notced a drastic change in my eyesight.everything goes blurry for me and i am not able to recognise even people a few metres away.i think all this happened because of excessive working in front of the computer.i figure i will be wairing a pair of glasses very soon with the rate at which my eye sight is detiorating.

Yes, it has. I'm only 28 but my eyesight has changed a lot and it's all my fault. I love to read and when I was still at home it's lights off at 9. So I had to use a flashlight just so I could read until dawn. I also read while lying in bed.

so, i also wear eyeglasses. i got my first one when i graduated from high school. when i was in high school, i could not really read well. sometimes i would ask my professor to let me take the seat which is near the blackboard so that i could see what was written there. and then, i could no longer take it coz i get dizzy most of the time so i decided to get my own pair of glasses. and it helped me a lot. now i've been wearing eyeglasses for almost 5 years also. i just had my new one last year. i have to change my first eyeglasses coz i could not use it that much. just imagine from -1.50 to -2.25 for my eyeglasses now. but now, i feel different again, and i feel like i have to change this eyeglasses that i have now. sometimes my head really hurts and i know its becuase of my eyes. so, im afraid also, that i may loose my eyesight someday. and i just hope that wont happen.

I got my first pair of glasses when I was almost 15. I had been having trouble seeing for about 6 months. One of my eyes has always been worse than the other. My eyes slowly got worse until about five years ago when they started getting better. My astigmatism has gotten worse, but not too bad. I don't know why my eyes got better overall, perhaps because I started eating a good diet. I am not too far away from being 40 so I guess I will find out how my eyes will change. It might be different for people who have been wearing glasses most of their lives.
