Because without killing them it is not possible to eat them.
Yes, Animals have all the rights to live like us.
Yes, people can live without eating animals, but if they stop eating animals, all the vegetarian food will exhaust soon, and everybody has to starve.

we as people only eat the animals, (meat) that God has put out there for us to eat. can one live with out meat, im sure we can. there is a balance and if we did not could you imagine how things would be with thousands of cattle and so forth

In the food chain a lot of animals eat other animals for survival. Humans need protien. Some of us choose to get our protien from meat. My daughter became a Vegan 6 months ago. That is her choice. I don't try to force meat on her and she doesn't try to force me to become a Vegan. I don't believe people should go out and hunt just for fun. If you kill an animal you should put it to good use. If you are not going to eat it find someone who will.

Animals are farmed for there meat. I agree that we dont think enough about the life that we take to feed on meat. But I dont think the animals would be allowed to live and feed unless they were farmed for that reason. A hundred years ago horses were used for transport, they are not required anymore for that purpose in our country and you rarely see them now.

Not all animals that we eat are farmed. Deer are not farmed, you can also go hunting for quail, turkey, elk, etc. I disagree about the horses. You still see them many places, you just have to look. We use them for pleasure, riding, and racing, and some people still use them on their farms for other purposes. Animal are allowed to live and eat for other purposes than to help out humans.

I acccept your comment. I do eat meat, but would not feel comfortable eating anything that is wild and fends and provides for itself. Although saying that I eat fish that other than the exception of a few varieties they are generally taken from the wild. I do beleive though that if the majority of people were vegetarian the cattle and herds, farmed poultry ect wouldnt be produced in the same numbers. Plus if the animals started eating all our beans ect they would be considered vermin and culled. Im firmly convinced that if we had to slaughter are own meat we would eat less of it and the sacrifice would be appreciated.Might post that as a discussion.

Being the highest form of all the animals and creatures in this world. human beings have the right to kill other animals for eating. What would we eat if we would not kill them? Not all people like to eat vegetables. Plus, meat from these animals provide nutrients in our body.

I understand you completly. There are so many substitues out there for meat. And killing animals is horrible any way you look at it. And people can live without eating them , they just choose not too. I laugh to myself when people say they love all animals and then they order a burger. They need a reality check. Also it makes me mad when meat eaters don't finish their heaping plate of meat and just throw it away. Imagine those animals suffering for your heaping plate of flesh and then you just throw more than half of it away. Makes me sick.

Human being is also an animal! He is better evolved creature and his behaviour makes him a social animal! Because his brain is sharp he/she can think better and thus made the things convenient for him from the available resources and he occupied the highest place in the ladder of evolution! But basically he is also an animal, lets remember it!
In the nature if you look at the food chain there are smll creatures on which the bigger creatures are feeding! Then this bigger creature is eaten up by a still bigger creature and thus the chain goes on ! since man is also one of the animal in this foiod chain he is having the natural instinct to hunt the animals and eat them! Though with the brain what he is having he discovered many things of which fire is an important thing! Having discovered the fire he started cooking his food. Before that he was dependent on fruits, leaves, roots and animals only! He was never a complete herbivore! That means he was never an animal cmletely dependent on vegetarian diet! This is very evident from the digestive system what we have! We don't have specialised compartments to digest the bulk plant material like horses , Cows etc which are solely depend on the vegetrarian diet!
Yes , with the evolvement and having gained he sense of judgement , it sounds quite natural that when we can eat and thrive on plants or vegetarian diet why we are killing animals! They do have life and they have right to live like us! Thats absolutely fine!
Do you mean to say that the plants which we are eating, the grains, seeds which we are eating don't they have life in them? The grains are the seeds of plants which they produce to propagate their future generation and we are eating these things mercilessly! This we are doing just because plants they can't shout or make pathetic sounds like animals when thery are being cut ? Plants are also living things and J C Bose already proved that plants also experience the pain like animals! Then why we are harassing plants and trees?
Thus if we see we are only entitled to eat only the fruits of the trees and palnts which have alraedy ripen and the seed of the fruit is to be spared for it is having life in it! There is nothing else we are suppose to consume! Even the milk what we consume is not meant for us it is meant for the young one of the Cow or Buffalo which we rae consuming mercylessly!
Thus if we look at the things there will be hardly anything left for the human beings to eat and survive, if the factor of life and conserving life is taken into consideration!
So in conclusion, i would like tosday that, killing animals for the purpose of food by human being is very natural and he is doing his duty thus maintaining or rather balancing the ecosystem, which other wise would get imbalanced to the extent that the mere existance of Human being on the earth will be a questionable! Think deeply about it! Thanks for initiating such a nice topic! Wish you all the best!

I wanted to post by it seems that you have said what i have in mind already. I'll just comment that, if its wrong for us humans to kill other animals for food, then what of other animals that prey on other animals and perhaps have the occasional human for food?
To sum up what many a poster have said, God created animals for purpose and one of the purpose is to provide sustenance. I don't think a God fearing person would reject these gifts offered by the Creator right?
Man, i feel that these subjects on to be or not to be a carnivore is getting a little bit crazy..

The mammals as such are not carnivorus type except few of them.
The human do not need any meat or flesh as a diet but humanbeings being smart & intelligent have adapted to this animal killing and eating them just for fun & ignorence some times.
We very well can digest the vegetarian type of food but I think humans adapted or followed the this from carnivorous animals only.
The sea food and the cattle stock is abondent in the world so it's maintaining the economy and the availability of food for all in a cheaper way.
If every one would turn a vegetarian type then the food will become costlier I think. I am sure we won't digest this deared food for long time.
All the best from oarnamav.

most of the cultures of human kinds includes eating, even when we are not being born, they are eating most animals, coz God provided animals for us to be a food. thats why God gave animal. As life goes and so as technology, we develop. and i understand what you feel about it , i believe you have a very passionate sympathy for animals. I do too, so i felt what you feel, anyway, i also like to kill people who eat dogs, what on earth they have to eat dogs, and rats, oh my God. But if ever i can do about it, im sure i will have the advocacy of saving animals, and proclaim to others to eat vegetable instead.

I'll put this less religiously... think about it if we did not kill for meat then 1. we would all be malnourished (there are some proteins and vitamins only meat can provide and 2. we'd be over run with cows, chicken and fish (just cuz we dont eat them does not mean they will no longer reproduce)
but certain meat I will not eat
lamb, veal, rabbit, bear, etc

I take it you're a vegetarian? Everything here on earth has a purpose. Animals are out forth by God to nourish us. Same way that plants are there to be eaten.
Being a carnivore or a vegetarian is by choice. I'm glad that you have made a stand but it does not mean that everyone else who decided otherwise made the wrong choice.

i know that there are a lot vegetarian out there..but if you thinking about killing an animal is inhuman, the vegetables is also a living creature which can growth and also has a soul.dont you ever think about it? pulling them out from the soils also one way of killing them..separate them from the soils, nutrients, water and fertilizer. who want to carry this responsible? i want to ask you, is vegetables is not alive? and if you studying about nutrition deeply, you can get the answer, why human needs both vegetables and meats..

Thats how the food chain works, if a lion had the opportunity I'm sure it wouldn't hesitate to eat a human. Yea it would be nice to have tasty food without killing anything but thats not gonna happen.

this is what i can say..to stay active , eat meat!
first of all, as we get older, ensuring that we get enough proteins becomes increasingly important with regard to muscle atrophy and the general stateof our health
second, the proteins provided by meat have an ideal composition with regard to the requirements of older people, and since they are animal proteins they are easily assimilated.
third, there are still some people who say that older people (including you) should stop or dont try eating meat, but this idea is quite wrong and if taken seriously can have serious consequences for their health..
are you by any chance is a vegetarian?

because they were given to man for food in the begining
(Gen.9:3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. )
