From the time you met your true love, how long did it take for you to wed.

My wife and I were dating for around 6 months before we got engaged and we were married a little over a year after our first date.

My husband and I met through mutual friends on a vacation we all took together. After that trip, we became the best of friends, closer with each other than to those who introduced us. We were best friends for about 3 years, but no romance ever came during those first 3 years because he had moved about 500 miles away to finish college. We still managed to be very close, and called each other when the smallest of things happened to us. He moved back to town, and we dated for about 6 months before he proposed. I always knew he was the one from the first time we met. I guess he did, too. We got married about 4 months after the proposal...so, all in all, it was almost 4 years before we got married.
