My hair is dry and lifeless so I started to experiment on ways to make it soft and shiny. Luckily, my hair is starting to improve because of this hair regimen. Apply coconut oil on your scalp and massage it in circular motion. You need to put oil onto your hair too, of course. Leave it on overnight and shampoo the next morning. My hair's texture improves everytime I do this. Other times, you can also use almond oil, mineral oil or olive oil in the same manner.

Coconut oil. Wow I eat this every day. I take a teaspoon in the mornings after breakfast every day. I hate the taste of it and the feel of it in my mouth. So I just sip on a smoothie afterwards. I think ingesting it helps my hair as well. Either way, I can see that it would work well. Coconut oil is really healthy. It helps many things. :-)

Two hopme remedies I can think of for shiny, helathier looking hair. Is a cold coffee rinse after shampooing. Also a treatment for dandruff is amyonnaise on the scalp. Leave on a while and then wash and rinse. it leaves the hair really soft and smooth and shiny.

You know, it is treated as a bit of an old wive's tale, but I think it still holds true today. Over at bodyandfitness.com they recommend: Give your hair a good brushing before bed. This should be done by bending forward from the waist, head down, brushing from the back to front. Brush at least fifty to one hundred strokes. This will help remove dirt, pollutants and damaging particles from the hair in addition to stimulate circulation which will increase natural oils for added sheen and oxygen to the hair and scalp.
They have lots of other tips as well, but I think that one is the best and easiest. They also suggest rubbing jojoba oil into your hair for extra shine.

I leave conditioner in my hair after washing and conditioning. For example, I wash my hair with shampoo, rinse, then use conditioner, rinse again, then I rinse with cool water. I shut of the shower, and then put a little bit of conditioner in my hands and put it in my hair. Leave in, towel dry. I never use the hairdryer anymore. I notice any heat will make it look dry. If I do use the hairdryer for a minute, I put it on cool temperature.
Then I apply some vaseline to my hair. Just a tiny tiny bit. It actually works! If you only put a little bit in (not a lot) it won't look greasy.
Take vitamin e everyday, cod liver oil, and or essencial fatty acids. These help promote healty skin, nails, and hair.
Hope this helps!
Always remember too, that making anything from the outside healthy, and looking better, starts from the inside. Eat well, and maintain a healthy diet. See a dietition. They helped me a lot.
Greets!
