ok, im so fed up with this! my husband is serving his second term there and we of course miss him dearly. i just found out this morning their tours will be extended from 12 to 15 months!!!! i think this is stupid and selfish of the govt. does anyone know who i can write to or help me talk to someone about this. my kids deserve a full time dad, i would love to see this president spend time away from his family and see if he doesnt feel different about his views.

First of all, my heart goes out to you and you family. I also want to thank you guys for the sacrifices you've made. I have the highest respect for the servicemen and their families. In our volunteer military, no one joins without the assumption ath one day they may ultimately be sent into combat, it is a given. So those who join knowing this demonstrate the ultimate in courage and love for their country and the desire to protect their families. I'm fairly sure there is no amount of writing that can get your husband home but I would start with your congressman (or woman). Ma'am, I will continue to hope for his safety as I do for all of them. Please pass on my best to your husband and offer him my thanks. Your husband, wether you agrea or not, is doing noble work over there. He is putting his life on the line for the sake of your family's future, this country's futre, and for the future of a people he doesnt even know, the people of Iraq. Thses are the people who will apreciate it more than any and only history will show if we were right to be there or not ultimately. Blessed be to you and your family.

i dont want anyone getting the wrong idea, i love my husband and respect his career choice, i do appreciate everything these soilders do everyday to keep us safe. i just get upset cuz the govt seems to think they know what is best for everyone when the prize we pay is not having our spouses or family members here where they need to be. and the ones left to suffer are the kids that dont understand.

I have read recently in the news about this, and I think it is just plain crazy! I have friend over there now who is expecting to be home in the next few months...by the sound of things I bet he doesn't now. It is bad enough he was about to get out when all this crap started and they wouldn't let him (of course). I am sorry, I don't have the slighest clue who you could contact about this. I want to tell you that admire all of our servicemen and women for what they are doing, and really appreciate the fact that they are fighting in our names. I feel for all of the families that they are leaving behind, you guys are very strong and are also doing a great thing for this nation. God bless you!

I know that this must be very difficult for you. My son, a sargeant major in the marine corps, has also just recently gone to Iraq and was supposed to be there for 1 year. I have a sister and son in law that are in the army in Korea, and they are on stand by. I haven't heard if this is affecting everyone, or just some of the military personnel. This is hard on so many families. I wish that this war would never have begun, but now that we are in it...we don't need it to carry over to the U.S. There are so many terrorists in the world today, that you never know when or where a strike might occur...and that is why we even have a military. Do I like it? No! Is it necessary? Maybe. I wish I knew who we could talk to in order to get our views heard..but there are so many families that are affected here. All we can do is pray that each and every one of our loved ones come back to us safe and sound and as quickly as possible. Until then, I will keep your husband in my prayers, along with the many other military personnel that I pray for. God Bless!
