A possible flaw in Mylot: Predictable response rate.

Eventhough I think Mylot is a very innovative network there is I think a major flaw because of the money involved. Users would always initiate a discussion instead of replying to it in order to get maximum number of responses. If it's all about getting responses the average thread is no more than 2 responses long. I would love to see mylot discussions thrive like orkut's or my space's but for that some incentive should be given to the responders as well. Am I right:) P.S If my assertion is is correct the lenght of this thread will be no more than 2 responses. Lets hope you guys prove me wrong.

There are three kinds of people here in myLot, the responders, the initiators and the balanced participators. First of all, I respond more than I make my own discussions so I belong to the responders category since I think MyLot have taken this into account already, and they've made sure that initiators don't get too much more than the responders. Yes people, may get tempted to post their 'own' rather than respond to another because of the money involved. They may be thinking: that when they make an interesting discussion, they'd be earning points and money without even typing, that is, through other people's responses. That is good, but I think people should be more fair here and try not to just make their own discussion but also try to respond so everyone benefits from it. I know some people who initiates more than they respond, 20:1, that is unfair I think - writing your own money-making discussion (always!). If you consider the math and logic in this, initiators do get a lot more but then again, I believe that myLot has already employed measures to ensure equality in the whole community.
