Product recalls: do you always get the refund?

In the past 4 months I've found recall notices on two of the products my kids use often. The first was a lego truck that my oldest son has had for almost 4 years and the second is Listerine's Agent cool Blue plaque rinse (they just issued the recall today). We sent away for the lego truck even though my kids were still playing with it until two days ago when we just decided they have too many big toys, and my oldest son has already used all the plaque rinse. I still intend on sending away for the refund and I'm not sure if I'd buy the product again, but my question is: If you haven't had an issue with the recalled product would you still send away for the refund?
