Yes friend, i accept that being vegetarian is better than non-vegetarian. There are many scientific reasons behind it. First of all eating non-vegetarian food adds lots of heat and colestrol to the body. It does makes the people healthy quite soon but at the same time gives them lots of diseases in the future. There is a substitute for all the non-vegetarian food in vegetarian food.
Well i am a non-vegetarian. But i have it only once a week that is on sunday. On weekdays, i have only vegetarian food. So i think that i have control over my health by eating less amount of non-vegetarian food!

Im a vegetarian and definitely feel its the way to be. It is much healthier and lighter on the stomach. Also, religiously, you ar enot killing/eating another human thing and that should account for some plus points on our karma:)

Yes,you are correct.Vegetarion food is better than non veg. But,now it is very difficult to get any fresh vegetables from the market.Every thing is now contaminated with poisonous pesticides and chemicals. If it is possible to plant some vegetable in our garden then it is fine.We can get fresh vegetable from there. But it is not possible for those living in flats.

Hello, Vegetarian lives longer. That's a fact. Please see below quotes:Vegetarian food leaves a deep impression on our nature. If the whole world adopts vegetarianism, it can change the destiny of humankind.....Albert Einstein
Please see below results of 25-Ýear Vegetarians Study of the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (German Cancer Research Center).
vegetarians have a dramatically lowered mortality risk. 100 deaths to be statistically expected in the age group of study participants are matched by only 59 real deaths in vegetarians. Looking at male participants only, the positive effect - with only 52 actual deaths - is even more pronounced.

I too agree that Vegetarians are healthier than the Non Vegetarians. I have read this stuff in many of the books, articles, blogs etc.
But I have one another question with me. Man by nature, is a Non-vegetarian. Man ate anything he can in the earlier days, and he was healtheir too in those day. How come, he cant stay healthier by taking the same NV now. ? Is that a difference between the cooked NV and Raw NV ? I dont know the reason behind this..

There are two very sound reasons for being a vegetarian - God intended us to be vegetarians that's why we do not have the same ability to digest meat as the carnivorous animals. Secondly if you notice all carnivorous animals lap up water eg. dogs, cats, tiger etc. while the herbivorous sip or suck in water like the cow, monkey, so Man falls in that category as we also sip water.

I dont think this is a good topic to discuss because we know there are veg and non veg people on the earth... and every body has got the rite to eat of their own wish... definetly some thing is good in vegetables and some thing is good in non veg also... so i dont think this dicussion lead to come out with any +ve result.

You can never say vegetarian is best one. Veg and non-veg are two different varieties of food and both of them have their own +ve and -ve points. I began to thinking how can i judge or compare between these two, on what factors? First i thought that non-veg food is more delicious than veg, but then again some very spicy delicious dishes came into my mind and i felt even veg food is delicious. Then i thought that non-veg food is more nutritious than veg, high in protein and vitamin content, but again i thought of spinach and other veg green vegetables and then again i was unable to draw out any conclusion. SO i think we should not compare between these two. Yes, for those who are on favour of non-veg i must say that too much of it is too bad!

I dont have any scientific ideas/ facts about being a vegetarian will lead to a healthier life. But one thing i can say eating habits dont dictate our health conditions to 100% and therfore there are many other factors that do incorporate in making our life healthier.
I am a pure Vegetarian, But i have all sort of complaints in me..
