I live in Texas and the weather is pretty crazy here. So I was wondering how often people water their lawn? We are on water restrictions so we can only water once a week-unless we stand there with the water hose and water the grass, or if the kids are running through the sprinkler it is okay, we just can't put on the slrinkler and leave it anytime we want to. We are trying to get our grass all pretty and stuff so I was wondering how often we should water it?? Thanks for all answers!

I live in Pune India and we have a warm to hot climate.I water my grass every Sunday afternoon and give it a really good drink and that gets it through the week.If it is really hot, then I will also water on Wednesdays. Watering longer less frequently is good as it gets the roots going deeper for water.

I never have to water my grass because there is no grass here; it's all stone patio, and pavement. I live in an apartment building. Even if there was grass, it would not be my responsibility to water it, that's up to the landlord, or Mother Nature.

I usually only water my grass once a week. The problem with watering grass too often is that the roots become very shallow because most of the water is on the surface from over-watering. When you water your lawn less the roots grow deeper in search of moisture and therefore, less dependent on being artificially watered. Also grass is very resiliant so if it turns a little brown from not enough water, it will come back very quickly once it is.
