Mylot makes me hungry..

So, last night I was getting ready to go out and meet some of my girlfriends for dinner. I showered, did my hair and make-up and was in a great mood. I was excited to get together with my friends and then it happened.
I went to get dressed and realized that my pants were pretty uncomfortable. I didn't think too much of it at first but then started to panic a little when I got to the second, and third pair. I finally settled on a pair that wasn't my favorite but they didn't make me turn blue because I couldn't breathe. When I went to dinner I made sure to have a light meal.
When I got back I started thinking about why I had put on a few extra lb's. Then today it hit me....I realized what it was while I was eating some french fries that I made myself. I had just answered a post about what I like to eat with my fries. The more I started thinking the more I realized tha every time I see a post about food, like a good recipe or my favorite flavor of ice cream I start to snack. I actually get hungry for whatever I'm reading about.
I made a trip to the store and stocked up on healthy snacks like fruts and raw veggies. Hopefully I can drop the extra lb's before summer.
So I was wondering, do you get hungry when you come across a discussion about a food that you like? Do you watch tv and see a commercial for a restaurant and just have to have the food they're talking about?

Yes! I am pregnant though, so I am easily influenced by food talks! I see posts about pizza, chocolate, Italian food, subs and more! So if I have any of that around I eat it! If I dont, I eat something else. NOT GOOD! I am going to take your advice and go get some carrot sticks and grapes to snack on. Commercials are bad too, because I have to see the food!

Yea I used to get hungry be watching an a on tv or reading a post on forums and I usually would go get it if it seems
tempting, but thanks to that I gained a bunch of weight so now I try to have more self-control and maybe I can drop all that weight lol.

Actually, I find that I now avoid food discussions.
I am no longer able to eat the things I used to eat. And at first, I would still answer these discussions and it just made it harder. It was torture! LOL
I was constantly being reminded of the foods that I could not have.
But now...I just avoid those discussions.
If I am not constantly being reminded of the foods that I can not have....then there is no craving and torture. LOL
Good luck on changing your eating habits. :)

To be honest I find that I have to have some kind of snacks available when I am spending time on the computer anyway. Since I quit smoking I want to nibble on things to keep my focussed and reading recipe discussions only makes me feel more like nibbling

Honestly I haven't had that problem yet on MyLot and I hope I don't lol. When I was pregnant with my daughter I would with tv commercials. I'd see a commercial for pizza and then I'd have to have pizza! One night I saw an add for KFC and I HAD to have chicken, but the hubby didn't get off work for another 4 or 5 hours, and I didn't want to get it without him. I thought it would be a good idea for supper that night. I ended up bawling because I wanted it NOW lol. I think that happens to a lot of pregnant women though ... if you want something you want it NOW!

No...not usually. However ...I do know what you mean. I do sometimes crave certain foods. I think that television doesn't help either and the fact that we are sitting on the computer all the time...that can definitely add the pounds...

no I don't get hungry just because I read about food, but my hormones make me hungry, you know that time of the month.

Depending on the discussion I might find myself searching for food. But I don't usually read the food posts (recipes). But I do snack while on the computer, especially at night. I can't help but eat all evening long. It drives me crazy and wish I could stop. I think the only way to stop eating in the evenings is to go to bed at eight o'clock.

LOL--- I never thought about it that way- But no I don't usually eat when I'm on mylot-- Its the opposite- when I watch tv I am more prone to grab a bite to eat to snack on- But sitting at this computer chair typing on mylot (because it is addicting) instead of riding a bike or walking outside-- thats how you pack on a few extra pounds- So my problem isn't unhealthy snacking- but lack of exercise when I'm online here- How do I change that? Besides getting off the computer!

Me also,i am influence of what i am reading here ut it depends upon the discussion i read if it will be for the better or for worst.Sometimes i forgot to eat my dinner when i am facing the computer and my mothers always scolded me that i will eat first before facing the computer. But now, i know how to manage my time here.

I wouldn't get hungry when I come across a myLot discussion that talks about food. But if you jazz it up with pictures and sound and video on TV or the web, I might just get a craving. Especially on those programs where certain restaurant recommendations are being made, wow, sure makes someone salivate. :P

So mylot did manipulate you huh? lol. No one or nobody can make me eat unless I'm hungry and i really want to eat.Guess I'm lion like.lol.
But mylot does manipulate me in another way.I'm more calm and poised when i'm at mylot.I'm not usually that way.My people know that.I guess its mainly due to the rules made by mylot. But its in a way.Otherwise there'd be lot fights here just like there aint no peace in the world around.
Also I'm more relaxed here.So whenever i need to relax.I just turn on the jams and start mylotting.

sometimes i dont feel like having doritos tandoori sizzler even when i see it at a store. but when the commercial comes back on tv again, i start to think about having it again and i end up buying it. it is quite weird to me that just watching the commerical will make me want to buy it even though i have already decided before watching the commercial that i dont want to buy it.
