Have you ever played in the mud as an adult?

My daughter says one of her favorite childhood memories is a mud fight we once had on a dirt driveway. My siblings were teenagers and the kids were about 10 and 4. We had a blast and made a great mess. Whish I had gotten pictures. Have you ever done this?

When the weather was a bit warmer a couple weeks or so ago my almost three-year-old son went outside to play and ended up stomping in the mud puddles together. It was a great mess but it was also great fun!

Oh yes, water puddles can be very exciting to a 3 year old. It is good when we can see the fun in the world through the eyes of our children.

lol last year when we were camping we took a small pool with us for all the kids to play in. we went where they couldnt get in the water due to gators so we thought its hot we will take one with us. well the campsite was nothing but dirt so we put the pool in the site next to us for the kids to play in. they ended up in a mud fight and well all of us decided that we would help the smallest kid out since she was getting beat badly in this mud fight. it was so much fun we all looked like a creature from the deep mud hole. in fact none of the clothes came clean we had to toss them. the kids had so much fun playing with us like that too. we slipped , tossed, grabbed, sat, layed everything in the mud. it is a time i will never forget. now getting clean after was fun to. we took the hose that the camper was hooked up to and had a water fight to get clean. lol

my mud toy waiting to be washed. It's just a light - my mud toy waiting to be washed. It's just a light dusting of 'clarts'
I certainly do like playing in the mud. The thing is, that it's not for the benefit of children. A few friends like to take our 4x4s into muddy fields and woods to 'play'. What can I say, big boys need their toys too! Please see pic of my muddy jeep (this was just a slight dusting because the weather had been quite fine at the time.

Thanks for bringing me down the memory lane, tess.. lol Playing in the mud was one of my childhood memories. Weekends weren't weekends if my childhood friends and cousins weren't on the go to look for some fun... we have a couple of options actually to spend our energy at... like climbing on my grandma's fruit trees over the backyard, or go on the small forest nearby to hunt for some petty birdies, or go running around when it rains, or go swimming over the rivers, or yeah get into the stuffs and enjoy the feeling of being in mud while laughing our hearts out with the littlest of things... :P well, most if not all children have had memories like this to cherish through ages. :P

Oh yes, I remember playing in the creek on my uncles farm with my cousins. The dirt road to the back 40 crossed the creek so when the big machinery went down through there that was the best time to play because the ruts were deeper. So much fun; and there's nothing like hide-and-seek in a big country barn full of hay bales and machinery and just farm stuff. So many memories,so much fun! Those cousins were more like siblings to me. Still are!

My daughter is 21 now, but we still remember playing mudpies when she was little. We did decide to change our little game after she insisted I eat one though, lol. We started making edible mudpies instead. She still got to use her scoop, but it was changed to scoop icecream and crushed oreos onto her bucket. Then she could stir until she was satisfied that it looked like real mud. She did start asking for rocks next, so we had to add some chocolate chip pieces and some peanut butter chips so there would be different colored rocks. I have to say these did taste much better. At least until she started adding worms, eeewww! I can't begin to tell you what sour worms tasted like mixed with all the rest, but she had a very active imagination, and said it just wasn't right without a wiggly worm in the mud, lol.
