They said on the news last night that the Mavs were on the way to the playoffs. If they keep playing like they did last night, there is no reason they can't take the championship this year. Now, I'm not really a fan of basketball, or really any professional sport, but the past few years the Mavs have made phenomenal improvements in their game, and I have to respect that. At least I know that one home team is on the ball (no pun intended) especially after the terrible season the Cowboys had this past year. My husband is still upset about that. So, even though I am an opinionated old woman that generally dislikes Pro sports, I have to say I am proud of the Mavs. How about you? What do you think of the Mavs?

I've been a Mavs fan since Steve Nash was there, and i must say I haven't been happier going into the playoffs. Last season was great, but this was one season for the record books. -MoneyBagz

The Dallas Mavericks are the best team in basketball and are the team to beat in this year's playoffs. They are my pick to win the championship based on the fact that they are the most balanced team in the league, have been there before and know what they need to do to accomplish they're main goal, and they have the deserving MVP Dirk Nowitzki leading them. The Spurs and Suns present a challenge, but the Mavs have beaten them before and will do so again.

dallas has two roadblocks for the title. (1)either the spurs and the suns is mostly likely will be the mavs conference finals opponent. the mavs have beaten the suns in their first two games since amare stoudemire was not yet 100%. in their last two games where amare has already picked up his paced, the suns have beaten dallas, the last one being a blowout. the spurs on the other hand is on a tear. probably, they've got the best record after the all-star break. they're not making so much noise, a typical san antonio spurs basketball, yet they've been winning a lot. their championship and playoff experience is something dallas should look out for, and of course, vengeance. san antonio should've won last season's playoff match against the match if not for ginobili's foul. expect dallas to come out strong again especially against the mavs. (2)provided that they pass through either phoenix or san antonio, lets just hope they face any team from the east except the detroit pistons. it might not be evident, but pistons basketball has been killings teams. pistons have just blown out phoenix, the nba's top offensive and fastest team by playing defense, just think of any other team that could do that to phoenix. plus the mavs have beaten the pistons by only 4 points, and chauncey billups wasnt even playing during that game. thats how good detroit's teamplay is. they're too balanced and they play with heart.

Dallas has the most balance I have ever seen in a pro team and I've watched the NBA for forty years. Now will this balance win them a title? That is more of a problem to predict than if they will win their first round series against Golden State or the Clippers.
I'll stick my neck out on this one - they will win their first round series. After that, there is alot of talent in the other teams to overcome.

the mavericks have the best record in the nba and they could even reach 69 wins this season. not so many teams did that. now with the playoffs fast approaching, the mavericks are definitely the team to beat in the west right now. but with teams like phoenix and san antonio (all from texas. he he), it will be a bumpy ride for the mavericks. don.t forget that the golden state warriors has beaten the mavericks the last two times they have met. and the warriors are currently at 8th seed. dallas is not going to win the championship this year.
