Hi,Linux web hosting is the best.
There are many advantages of using Linux hosting over Windows hosting.
The most important ones are security and Cost. The Linux web hosting provides more security than Windows. The cost is also less when compared to windows.

I think Linux is better.
Linux has less security problems than windows.
Also you can install Linux on a server using the minimum you need: the Linux kernel is 1,5 MB with many drivers, so can be smaller, about 1 MB, then you don't need KDE o Gnome, only Apache, PHP, MySQL and some else.
So, if you choose Linux you can have a server with a website fast and small.

I host all of my own sites on Linux servers.
For the same level of functionality, I've found Linux / Apache / mySQL / PHP to require less system resources than the equivalent IIS / SQL Server / .NET solution.
I only use .NET when I absolutely have to - usually when a client is nagging me to do it. :-)
