Do you have anynatural remedies for the common cold? I know nothing "cures" it but have you found anything that makes you feel a bit better when you're sick?

I keep Cold-Eze and Airborne in my kitchen cabinet and take both at the first sign of a cold. I'm a teacher and work with little ones and they are forever sharing their germs with me. I can't afford to take off from work so I use these products, drink plenty of fluids, and make some home-made chicken soup and sure enough it cuts the cold in half. There is no cure for a cold, but you can take the wind out of it if you act right away. If you wait too long though, the effectiveness of these products lessen.

If you have a fever, and only a mild one, cover up and sweat it out. Garlic and oregano is great for colds. Garlic is an anti-microbial and helps fight them when you get them. Oregano does sort of the same thing. Peppermint is great for sore throats, you can drink a peppermint tea, and if you'd like, add some honey because I read somewhere that honey has some great healing properties.

Whenever I have cold, I usually go out and buy a ton of orange juice and vitamin C pills. I drink as much water and vitamin C as I can and take tons of vitamin C pills all throughout the day, and usually by the next morning I wake up feeling way way better!

My mum used to make a hot toddy that worked really well. It is pretty simple...a shot of scotch whisky, with a teaspoon of sugar and add boiling water. Drink it as hot as you can and get right off to bed. You will sweat like crazy but I always end up feeling better the next day.

Johnson and Johnson puts out a "Soothing Vapor" bath gel that I pour into my bathwater and soak in it. I love it. It not only softens skin, relaxes me, but helps to open up my nose. Look for it in the baby section.

I drink purple grape juice as soon as i feel like i might be catching a cold. It always seems to help i either dont get the cold at all or it only last a few days.
