Do you buy things because of good TV ads or commercials?

Have you fallen into this trap of being enticed to buy a product because of good presentation in TV ads or commercials? I have fallen into it a couple of times, and I realized that no wonder advertisers spend too much on these marketing campaigns. It's like conditioning the mind of the viewers unconsciously to buy their products over the less advertised ones. The recent one I was convinced into buying was Olay's Total Effects moisturizer. It claims to have anti-aging ingredients that gives one younger looking skin. So let's see what happens! lol I noticed the easy 'victims' are little children who watch TV most of the time. Whenever we're doing some grocery shopping, my little girl and nephew, insists on buying the ones that they see on TV. Sometimes, even with kitchen products like cooking oil, they insist on a certain brand. Also, as they are avid watchers of Nick Jr. and Cartoon Network, the toys being promoted there are the ones that they nag us to buy. Have you fallen into this too? Please do share your experiences.
