Has anyone participated & made money for FOCUS GROUPS?

I have not had the opportunity to join any focus groups. They are supposed to pay pretty good but until lately, I haven't had the time when I can participate.
From what I understand, these groups meet in a chat room and talk to eachother and answer questions like a survey but this is live.
Has anyone done this? Have you gotten paid for it? Where do you sign up for legit ones? About how long do they last? I was under the impression that they last about an hour sometimes 2 or 3 hours.
I would be willing to sign up under anyone who has! If they have referral benefits.....

I was asked to participate in a focus group at the hospital I had my son at. They paid $75.00 for participation. Most if the online scheme focus groups don't work and if they charge a fee it's usually a scam. Let me know if you ever find any legit ones online.

I did one several years ago at the Children's hospital. It was for kids with asthma, trying a different diet to see if it would effect their breathing.
We received money for groceries, and travel expenses to and and from the hospital, and then my daughter received coupons for McDonalds for finishing the study.
