i was diagnosed of PCOS last march and was not yet ready to come out not until i read most of the women's stories here. now,we are trying to do fertility workout. i was on clomid cycle last month and then was also into gonadotropin injection...here comes the:( part, we thought we, my husband and I, are now pregnant but just recently i had my period...
now, will i ever lose hope or still continue with my workout for pregnancy? i have read several stories and they are really enlightening...hope to get more feedback from everyone esp those who have been there and were successful and some who were not...pls enlighten me again...

I was diagnosed with pcos in 2000 after two years of trying for a baby.
Two years later after several courses of clomid and being put on a waiting list for further treatment I got pregnant but we lost the little girl I was carrying at almost 22 weeks. A year and a half later and some courses of clomid later I again got pregnant and at 30 weeks gave birth to a baby boy. All in all its taken 6 years to have my baby boy but its been worth it.

thank you so much this gives me more hope than i ever imagined. after the ist trial we had, i thought that would be the end of it. my doctor encouraged me to shed some extra pounds and continue medication of mets and we start again the clomid cycle after 3 months.
thanks again...i would have to say that it would still then be possible. thank you.

thank you so much!!! i was touched by your story. that was what i was thinking too. but i will still have to do my part just the same...i am just trying my best so hard that probably God would not want me yet or He would think we are not still ready...probably he has still plans and having baby at this time is not yet the best time...

I was diagnosed with pcos and endomertiosis in 2001. I have had 5 laser surgeries to remove both cysts and scar tissue from my ovaries and uterus. At that point I was really conserned and that fed my need in having a child so my doctor gave me clomid twice in 2 years and I (just like you) thought that I was expecting triplets. I was hurt when my cycle came too, but what some women don't expect is that clomid can sometimes harm more than it can help (my opinion). The reason i say that is that it caused me to develop a 4 centimeter bleeding cyst on my right ovary to the point that my doctor felt that he should remove my ovary as a whole. I was lucky because he acted in my best interest and decided not to remove my ovary. The best part is that I got pregnant that next year(2004) naturally.
What I am basically saying is that all the meds in the world can not give you a baby, it's something created from love. Now I am not saying to not receive treatments to help with your fertility issues. I just want you to know to not let the process of conceiving a child become a JOB, just don't get to discouraged and try not to stress your body so much.....then when you least likely expect, a miracle will come knocking at your door. "Believe Me!" My daughter was born at 23 weeks and she is turning 2 next month, she is as healthy as she can be. My best wishes to you!

I too have PCOS. I was diagnosed just last month but ive had the symptoms forever. I highly recommend this messageboard....you will be surrounded with other women with PCOS and will help you decide how to treat it. I know i feel better knowing im not all alone in the world with this condition.
Never EVER lose hope. I had my son after being told Id never have kids(of course, my doc at the time had no idea I had PCOS) and 5 years and several heartbreaks later, our son was born on our 5 year wedding anniversary! If you ever need to chat, please feel free to PM me!

Have you tried alternative medicine? Herbs like false unicorn root (FUR) have proved to be very effective in treating PCOS and infertility women.
Basically, FUR is known as the native american herbs and in those days, the natives used this to treat infertile women. In fact science has also confirm with this. It will not only restore ur hormones level back but also will make your ovaries healthy again.
I've also been diagnosed with PCOS n I know how frustating you are. My hair's losing everyday and I need to avoid refined carbo food. I live in singapore n most of the food here consist of refined carbo, so imagine almost all of the food that I can't eat...
But 1 thing I do know is, patience is a virtue bcoz u can't afford to have any stress level in your body coz that will induce n disturb ur hormones level that will make the matter worse.
i hope this will help u..

i also have pcos. i was diagnosed 8-9 yrs ago, long before i even got married. the 1st ob-gyne i went to told me to have kids right away so that my pcos can be treated. but i was just 20 yrs old then and eventhough i have a boyfriend, i felt i wasn't ready to get married and have kids yet.
i went for a 2nd, a 3rd and even a 4th opinion. all of them gave the same results/diagnosis. i asked if there was some treatment for it (it's treatable, not cureable by the way) and i was told that i had to take birth control pills to prevent the cysts from accumulating and growing. the didn't recommend an operation since the pills can control its growth. right then, i knew i was going to have a difficult time conceiving.
i got married in 2003. my husband and i (knowing that we'll have a difficult time conceiving) wanted to have a baby right away so we sought the help of my ob-gyne. i underwent some tests and work-ups. i followed everything my ob-gyne asked me to do. it was so frustrating when every missed period i had resulted in a negative pregnancy test result. we almost gave up. then we decided to let go and let God. i stopped taking my fertility medicines. i willed myself to relax and not to pressure myself. then 3 days after we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary, we found out i was pregnant! we were really very happy and excited! now we have a 2-yr old daughter.
so don't worry. i know of some people and friends who had the condition and still were able to have kids.
goodluck and keep the faith!

PCOS, one of the problem of women who is trying to conceive. we have almost the same problem , i went to a reproductive endocrinologist, and did some blood work. everything wa normal except for my slightly elevated testoterone level. i told the doctor that i want to get pregnant.i did ultrasound.no ovarian cyst.the doctor recommended for metformin 500 mg -3x a day, with combination clomid to boost the ovulation.
if this wont work, there is always the other means, which are the injectable hormones. and for more aggressive, in-vitro.
dont lose hope, pray.

I was diagnosed with PCOS after I had my 2nd child, although I had symptoms most of my life. I was started on Metformin and found that it was great at regulating my cycle and treating my symptoms. Is this a route you have tried? I wish you the best of luck.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in late 2001. We started to see a reproductive endo doctor in 2003, and I was put on metformin to regulate my cycles. We had a few rounds of treatment on clomid, and things didn't work out. We went on hold and I really never thought i would have a child. At the end of 2005, we decided to try to TTC again, and I was artificially inseminated thru IUI. I was pregnant on the first try. I did have some pregnancy complications due to the PCOS (incompetent cervix) which lead to me delivering my son 3 months early, but I am a mother and I did what I didn't think I would.
I know there is hope out there, and I will send you some baby dust :)
