Do you wait for moods

I don't wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work.

This is actually fairly insightful -- the more you "specify" what your mood will be, the less likely you are to have a mood inflicted on you by some random event or a jerk trying to screw with you.
If you wake up and just let whatever mood you start with consume you, you're likely to have a seriously crappy day unless you just happened to be bouncingly happy when you woke up. Doing something that cheers you up, whether it's reading a comic, laughing at a cat doing something silly, or recalling fond memories of someone you care about, is a much better way to kick things off.
Stuff *will* bother you -- being excessively happy or upbeat even in the face of continuous defeat or sadness in your life can be dangerous, and it's okay to be upset and sad about setbacks or loss.
The only thing more dangerous is doing like you said first -- just waiting for a mood to hit you leaves you spending a lot of your time just waiting for something good to happen. It doesn't work that way. You have to *make* good things happen.
