Memories of My Time in Germany...

When I was young, my Dad was posted to Sennelager in Germany and my Mum, Brother and I all went out there to live. My brother was almost three and I was five. He went to kindergarten and I started school at the army camp.
I vaguely remember this because I love the snow, but my Mum told me that my first day at school, she had to pull my Brother and I up to the school on a sledge. I love the snow and probably enjoyed the novelty of this. She took me to the school and apparently, I cried a lot. I don't know whether I believe that... me, cry? Oh well. My Brother got upset because my Mum was leaving me behind in a strange place and she had to take him to the Naafi and buy him a drink and something special to soothe him.
I soon got into the swing of school though. After that initial time, I used to catch the school bus, just across the street and I was fine. My Brother went to kindergarten, which tired him out and I used to find him asleep on the sofa when I got home. lol.
We lived in Germany for three years. We all made a lot of friends and were sad to have to leave, not only because of the friends, but because of the snow. :-)
Was anybody else in army accommodation in Germany? If so, would you like to tell your story?

I had to check with Mum. I knew I started school there and Mum pulled me and my brother to the school on a sledge, because it was snowing. lol. We were there from 1968-1971 apparently, but I remember it so well because of the snow. We had a lot of snow while we were there.
The strangest part of all this is that we lived in Loesekestrasse as well, 182/3, which is down the bottom end facing the main road, and next to a swing park.
Thank you for your response. I didn't expect anybody to say they were in the same street. lol.
