why did GOD create US?

why did god choose to make us? whats the point? he is the most powerful being and he surely has better things to do with his eternity of time. religion doesn't have the answer..then why follow it? and religion accuses "science" that things cant just exist out of thin air, but science says that too.
so what do you think?
is god a child playing with his human toys or did we randomly appear OR are we stuck in a never ending space/time world and we keep going back and forth and there is no beginning or end?
i think its the 3rd one, its the most logical

Well, this is the meaning I got for omnipotence in wikipedia.... it means "unlimited power". If you think "God is omnipotent" then it only means that God has unlimited powers to do anything. So, what is illogical about him creating something? can u pls. explain? In my humble opinion, you are not able to digest a God because your basic concept of God itself is wrong..... you have a limited knowledge of some religion or religions and you don't have any idea what God might actually be. I don't believe in physics too much because someone first "discovers" something and proclaim their knowledge to the world. After some years, yet some others come and challenge the earlier views and then you have a different idea. The laws of physics or science are subject to change. In my opinion, God is not something that can be comprehended with what little intellect we have. You will not be able to understand God's motive of creation unless you become God yourself. So, try and become God and you will know the answer yourself. You say 'religion doesn't have the answer'. I would rather say, 'I don't believe in what answers the religion may have'. That is your freedom. Find out the answer yourself.

your not supposed to "believe" in science..
reliigion has answers?
omnipotence is not "unlimited power" like a super hero, its ALL POWER, meening, knows all and can do all, potential for anything. i have already explained why he cant have both

im sorry, i didnt mean god cant know all and do all, i thought you were smart enough to understand the meaning without me having to explain it.
religion does not have answers, period.
answer this question, "why did god create us" using religion and i will debunk whatever answer you have.
i never said an omnipotent god is illogical.
i said a an omnipotent god that loves is illogical.
i said god cant be omnipotent if we have free will.
if you want to live in a fantasy world where ignorance is bliss, be my guest. but what if knowledge, experience and consciousness is all that you have in the next world? then your screwed.

I don't understand why something that "knows all" and "can do all" is illogical. On the other hand, it is perfectly logical. Only some thing that knows all can do all....
You say that the concept of omnipotent God is illogical. I have gone through all your posts... I haven't found it anywhere when u explained why it is illogical. Just because u cannot imagine it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Oh yes, I don't 'believe' in science. That is exactly what I mean. When u research something with your own eyes and you find out it's true, you start believing in it. That's why you believe in science and I don't.. I guess you would have understood what I mean by that.
In another post, you have said that "God can't have love because emotions cause limitations". Again, here your concept of love as an emotion is purely human in nature because your intellect doesn't understand anything farther than that. So, your intellect is limited. And so, it consequently follows that it is not able to comprehend anything beyond its limitations.
And u asked me "Does religion has answers?"Yes, religion has answers. You have not researched the different religions in this world. Go do it and then come back and we will discuss this thing. Some religions do have other ways of explaining creation and other things that is now being researched and found to be logical with scientists themselves. If you claim to be a scientist, go and find out. Religion has answers, but the answers need not necessarily fit inside your intellect because you are too intelligent lol. Remember that the mind forms a visual image of everything that is being said. That image can only be of something that the brain is able to comprehend. Nothing above than that. Most people's idea of infinity can be just vast and unending space.... nothing more than that. You will know the answer why God created u only when u try to see it from God's point of view. All else will be BS.
Can u answer me this? Can u tell me who you are.... pls be careful... I'm not asking for ur name, or your profession or your human species name.... ... nothing that can be specified with "my" in it... all those things refer to something which u think belong to u. "I" am asking you to tell me what u think when u say "I".... that basis of all thoughts... this 'I' which you know exists. Tell me who this 'I' is.... find that out first and you will have answers for everything else in this universe. Good Luck.

I keep seeing that all your responses to the other responders is that if God is omnipotent He can't need anything.
Maybe so, but He can want, and He made us for His good pleasure so that we may love and worship Him. Besides He is God and our puny minds cannot comprehend Him.
It's kind of like people who want to have children, God created us because He wants children, and that is what those of us who believe and worship Him are, His children. Maybe that is too simplistic, but to me He is Father.

God can do whatever He wants because He is omnipotent.
Besides God gave us all the attributes He has, including feelings, if we have feelings then it just goes to show that He does too.
I will not argue with you, or even debate this issue. But I will pray for you.

God created us for his pleasure.Revelation5:11,Thou art worthy.O LORD,to recieve glory and honour and power:for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. We are like an image of him and therefore he wants us to love and fellowship him.He loves us.If he did not create us he would still be who he is the one and only GOD.

God always want to fellowship with His creatures, that's why he made man in His image and for them to acknowledge Him as God and Creator thus it glorifies Him. Science and faith cannot be on the same path-- their very different. Science does want to prove on something while faith is not. Faith is the hope for things unseen.

firstly, god cant have love because emotions cause limitations and god cant be limited because he is omnipotent. in other words, god has all emotions but it cancels itself out.

Yeah, you're right. But it is His very nature to love-- and love cannot be felt by your own, it should be given/shared to someone. Although God is not lonesome, for He had His Son, His Holy Spirit and the angels. It is love for His very own creation-- He cherished it. What do you think of those inventors or companies that assured the patent/copyright/trademark of their discoveries be credited to them? It's the same principle for God that His' creation should know or acknowledge that He's the one who authored/created them.

its a senseless question. As long as nobody cant say what God is nobody can say why he made us. Maybe he has a plan and it makes sense that we are here, but then why should we able to understand this plan? And it makes no difference if you say then i am not a religious person, the scientists also cant give you an explanation of more. what is space, what is time, how can the universe be eternal, what is an electron? it just makes no sense to think about these things. we dont have the brain to understand if there would be a logic in it, a sense, neither Gods plan nor natural plans, and maybe there is just no sense in it. Take it with monthy phyton: the sense of the universe and why we all are here is 42. Its silly and makes no sense, like all other answers we have until today.

I believe in the beginning, there was only God, undifferentiated God.. and then He decided to multiply.. so to speak.. He's making his family.. so he endowed thinking ability! And that's where we are. He coulda stuck with merely worlds, plants and animals.. And could have avoided all this messy trouble..
Because He is Life, the great spirit and spark of Life, he lives through, suffers and experiences all sufferings which occur. He knew this world would become as it is.. for when He gave rationality (to angel and man) He knew a whole new world (or tree) of possibilities would 'come to be'.. Why put Himself through all this? Because he's not creating an ant farm, or robots, but the best. Besides being Life, itself, God is also Perfection - any idea, truth or doctrine must measure up to that statement. Becuase God is Perfect, the 'end' result can be nothing less the the absolutely Best Possibility..

The "right" answer is that God wanted our fellowship and love, but I believe that we don't really know, because He has never actually told us.
You said, "are we stuck in a never ending space/time world and we keep going back and forth and there is no beginning or end? i think its the 3rd one, its the most logical"
It may be too late at night for me, but I don't see the logic in that. Do you believe there is a God? If so, why would He stick us in such an awful predicament? If you don't believe there is a God, how would we have ever gotten into such a space/time world in the first place?
You asked an interesting question!

..I think all things, including religion has been used and even abused.. and have all changed, as they pass through many human hands..
I agree we are in a world of waves and cycles.. set in motion.. but blending with said waves and cycles is imperfection, an offshoot of thinking ability having been endowed (to angel and man). For thinking ability includes, sooner or later, the ability-to-choose..
And so that is where we are.. in the unfolding of choice/'free-will' an unavoidable journey/lesson, if there are to be rational creatures, and not merely worlds, plants, animals..

again, god cannot want/need something if he is omnipotent.
my studies on physics have led me to come up with my own beliefs on god.
i dont know if there is a "god" (creator)
i believe religion is not true in anyway, just a way of trying to gain power (not trying to offend any1, just my belief)
i dont believe that god is omnipotent because it is illogical
i kind of believe in us being trapped in a world with more than 3 dimensions, that is filled with waves and cycles, and we go through time over and over, and the same thing happens forever for no operant reason.
this is hard to believe for many because it assumes that life is random and pointless, but that is my belief, more logical but less "pretty" lol
and since this cycle is random, it does not need a creator.

Just an abstract thought here....You are God...he is the very thought
which gives you the Capacity to seek him. He wants you to seek him ( on a personal level ) no Churches , no salesmen , no one telling you to subscribe to any earthly religion. Just you truly looking for him. Seek your reward.
God is in every one and everything . This is what he wants you to understand.
Everything begins with a thought , and that thought...is God.

Maybe God wants us to enjoy the things that he created, not because he needs us. "Wanting" has a different meaning than "needing". He has the power to do things, yes, so he created us to enjoy His blessings. The only problem is that we are sinners.

Just as I've said, WANTING is different than NEEDING. He Wants us to enjoy the things He created. The things that He created, He don't need them, that's why he created Us, but that doesn't necessarily means that HE NEEDS US.

Eternity is a long time....infinitely long. With that much time you would create and experience anything...even forgetting that you're God by creating the idea of being Human.

Religion doesnt have the answer true.... but... Chrisitanity does...God created us because he wanted to... thats all that we need to know... he made us becuse he wanted to, for his glory. our purpose is to honor and serve him... Just like when you make cookies...whats the point? to eat them right? for your pleasure? same thing with God...he made us because he wanted to..and we are here to serve him.. simple thing is that most people choose not to...
there is truely no beginning or end... God has no beginning and has no end...you are right... =D...we also have no end... our physical lives will end yes.. but we live on spiritually.. and if we are saved, we go to heaven to be with our creator, and if not, we go to hell and are eternally separated... no end...

Fightingistheonlyway, why does it seem that other people feel "threatened" (in looking at the tone of responses to ANY religious-based discussion) when anyone says they do not believe in their version of god and religion?
Isn't that contrary to the religions teachings that people are to be non-judgmental and have faith in their god? Why should it matter to anyone if another person does not take stock in these things, and why do they think they must change their minds? Isn't the all-powerful god stronger than them to begin with, and better able to reach those he wants to have serve him?
