We use all sorts of services without thinking how we get them. But such services cost money. We pay for them through taxes. What would happen if everyone in a city stopped paying taxes? The water supply would stop, the streets might not be cleaned, there will be no police force to protect people and property.
The chief duty of every governmentis to protect persons and property. More than three-fouths of the money spent by our government is used for this purpose. The next largest amount of public money goes to teach and train our citizens. Billions of dollars each year are spent on schools and libraries. Public money is used to pay the teachers and other public officials.
Any others. Please tell me. Thank you.

I agree that taxes are a vital part of any civilization, the people living in it help pay for it's maintenance. I disagree with some of the things taxed though. Taxing previously sold and well used goods for instance, thus technically taxing the same item twice, is something I disagree with.

I hope this will never happen!! In every country we have to pay some tax to the government. You are right that if we stop paying taxes, we will loose our everyda servies except which we cannot do anything, as every service costs some money. The Governmet collects this money from different taxes.
I have read in a book a line about taxes, as "Taxes are what we pay for the civilized society"
Thus, in order to make our live safe and smooth going, we should no hesitate to pay taxes.
