I am just curious about why many teenagers join/establish a fraternity and sorority.. i am a college student and i cant see any benefits of joining them. Can you site any reason why a person is encouraged to join such groups?

Well I'm not sure that people are really "encouraged" by others to join greek organizations, but I can think of a few reasons why people would join. I've heard that joining organizations can make a large school feel smaller and more like home. In terms of benefits, I met some of my best friends through my sorority in college, and can't really say where I would be without it. The personality of each greek organization all really depends on the school size and location.

teens join fraternity and sorority because they need to feel belong. sometimes they need the security that fraternities offer. like from what i've heard influencial fraternities can offer you jobs after you graduated from college. if influencial people are in your fraternity, chances are, your future is secured.
