am i the only one so oldfashioned to think that writing letters is more romantic and personal than writing SMS or emails? dont understand me wrong. emails are wonderful, very fast and very effective way of communicate, but i still write letters, to good friends, to my family for example. They also have computers and mobile phones, but i think writing a letter is something different than writing an email. what do you think? anyone else besides me who still love to write letters?

Well yeah definitely, writing letters is more romantic than all of this electrionic messages Iknow some people who still do this inspite of all the easiness we can get form sms and emails.
Me personally if I have to or if I really want to I'd like to write letters too but since I was young I never really write letters...I don't know I'm just too lazy to do that and maybe I'm not that romantic person.
But if I'll be the one to receive such letters I will be flattered cause I know the effort they do.

Maybe I am old fashioned, maybe I am not-- but I still like to write letters by hand to people (and, of course also get some!). I do think email is great, but it is just not quite the same as personal correspondance. We "know" a lot of people through the Internet, but when you get a handwritten letter, it feels as if there is "physical evidence" that the person actually exists, which I like. Somehow, the handwritten letter "says more," even if there are fewer words. I also like the fact that it takes a little time... I send a letter to a family member from here in the US, and it takes 4-5 days to get to Denmark, and then it takes 4-5 days more for an answer... it's as if it gives us time to "think about things" in a way the immediacy of email, SMS or IMs simply don't.
Unfortunately, fewer and fewer friends take the time to write letters, anymore. Sometimes, I make friends online, and we decide to take up a "snail mail correspondence" simply because we like to get letters. But writing letters slowly seems to be dying out... it's sad.

My family is pretty small and most of them are on email now, but I love to write letters to my grandmother. I know that she really enjoys getting mail, and since she was a 4th grade teacher for many years, I know that she appreciates the time and effort put into a letter. This reminds me that I need to send her another one! Thanks!
