My oldest is going to prom. It's like drama queen central around here while she tries to get things organized. She waited until the last minute for so many things that I don't know how she'll get everything done. Well, yes I do... she'll be recruiting me to help out. Anybody else?

I do have a child who is going to a prom this year, but it's my son and so far, no drama or anything. He's just going to rent a tux and show up. I'm more worried about after parties than anything else. Eventually, my daughter will go to and I suppose I will have to deal with drama when it's her turn...luckily that's a few years away. Good luck.

Rent a tux and show up sounds good. I wonder if boys have any idea what girls put into going to the prom. :o)
I understand your concern over the after prom parties. I guess worrying is an occupational hazard for parents. I hope your son has a fun, safe prom night.

So, simply refuse to get into her hysterics. Tell her that you told her weeks ago what had to be done and she should have had them done by now. How do you expect her to be a responsible adult in a few years if you step in and fix her problems for her now? Let her sink or swim on her own, its the prom, not major surgery. She won't die if things aren't perfect.

Ha! Very true, but I guess I should have thrown a smiley in there, because my post came out sounding much more serious than I meant it to. It's not as bad as hysterics, but she can be dramatic... typical teenage girl. I don't really mind helping here SOME with her prom stuff.
I have yet to convince her that she'll come through intact if things are not perfect (and nothing is ever perfect), but she is responsible when it comes to important matters. Apparently time got away from her. Prom time arrived quickly and now she's fretting and looking to mom for help. :o)
