Why do we gossip?

I think that we gossip because we are bored. Humans naturally want to communicate with each other, but sometimes we don't have enough going on in our own lives so we have to talk about other people so we can still talk with each other.

I think it's a way of connecting and engaging with other people. It also takes the focus off the day to day and problems in our own lives.

First it is human's nature.then i want to say it is a good way to get relationship with others.Because during the gossip we can know more about others,such as family,interesting,background.

There are a lot of reasons why we love gossip. We love to peek at others' lives and maybe compare our own to them -- to put ourselves above of others. Some do it to intentionally hurt others. Others do it just for fun and curiosity. Whatever reason, gossip serves nobody and enriches no one (except if you are in showbiz where gossipmaking is a big business). Gossip is a bad habit.

Generally speaking , people are suffering from an inferiority complex. This gossip habit is an unconscious attempt to shine the light on others faults so that other people will not see the faults that they believe that they have. It does not actually work because people will gossip about everyone. Do not be concerned with gossip even if it is about you. If it is about you , even if it is true , just find the humor of it all and life will still be enjoyable.

maybe people are tired of their own stories and wants to hear others. maybe they have things they're hiding as well and instead of putting the spot light on themselves, they'd rather have the other persons life high lighted.
