Will this ever end? This constant war of the races? Judging a person based solely on their color/race? I just can't stand it! It drives me absolutely insane to listen to someone's "so-called" logic when it comes to people of a different race. Blacks still blaming whites for their hardships...Whites still treating Blacks like inferiors...and the list goes on! Just STOP IT! I know, that me writing this isn't going to stop it, but I just felt the need to vent this out. I watched that Trading Spouses show the other night and was sick to my stomach the entire time. They say ignorance is bliss...NO, ignorance is stupidity! Learn about something before speaking on it! Get to know someone before making your judgement. (Not that YOU have the right to judge anyone anyway). I may not be black, but I am in an interracial marriage and and it wasn't until I started dating him, that I got to see first hand how racist people can be. The way they'd look at the two of us when we were out and about. But then again, I tend to stare at interracial couples too...Wanna know why? Because I think it's Beautiful and I like to relish in that moment when I have the chance. However, I know that by some of the looks we got, they weren't thinking the same thing. I really do just wish it would end...don't we as People, Have ENOUGH to worry about in this life?

I think racism is very bad. Even though I don't know many racists... or any at all, we still think its funny to make racist jokes. EVen some of the other races love to hear those jokes, you'd be suprised. But I think its also offensive, and you have to be careful what you say and do. But yes, I frown upon racism.

Very very useful and remarkable topic for discussion. I appreciate your efforts for starting it. I also do not understand racism. How can colour of a person can decide whether he is good or bad? Since beginnig, our minds are polluted and infused with silly thoughts that colour of a person makes him good or bad. We in India tend to give more importance to white skin foreigners instead of those who do not have white skin. God has made us human being, it is we who have developed and demarked our own boundaries for behaving with coloured people. I think it is absurd to treat a person as per colour of his skin and it does not make any sense to me. Kudos to you for being bold and developing a interracial relations. You must be rewarded.

The content of one's heart is far more important than the color of one's skin. Growing up, on the one hand I had my mother, a woman who grew up in a place, time and with people who were all very racist/prejudiced. The N-word flew around my grandmother's home all the time, for example. Her mother and father both were very prejudiced people, etc. My mom, however, saw how wrong it was, and how hurtful it was, and decided that was a cycle she wanted to break. On the other hand, though, I had my father. My father was raised in the South, in a little unheard of backwards town where there is, to this day, a white section of town and a black section of town. :\ Thankfully, I had a "traditional" type of home where Mom stayed home to take care of me and my father worked. It was from my mother that I learned that people are simply people, regardless of their skin color or place of birth or heritage. Simply people, just like me. I am proud of her for seeing when she was younger what an awful way to be it was, and so grateful for her teaching me that from the word go. :) Our history, as a nation, as a world can teach us so much - but sometimes instead of learning from history's mistakes, some people are foolish enough to repeat it. I too feel that we as people have enough to worry about in life, without taking part in spreading hate - or being on the receiving end of hatred. I think all relationships between two PEOPLE who really love each other are beautiful! I feel sorry for the people who CAN'T see that. For people who can't view a pair in love and simply see people that love - and instead see something strange or "wrong." What a limited view of a wide & wonderful world they have. :(
