The recommended amount of water per day is usually 8 cups (8 fl. oz). Do you get that much water per day? If not, how much do you get? I’m asking for my Nutrition class, I’m doing a survey of people and seeing how much different people get per day.
I try to drink that much water everyday. I usually use water as an excuse for me to get up and walk to the water cooler at my office everyday, so it serves double purpose.
How much do you get?

There is no way I can drink that much of just water. I would be constantly going to the toilet, & it would disrupt my sleep.
I do have a water bottle with me a lot, & regularly take sips. It would probably amount to half the recommended amount.
I drink a lot of coffee, does that count?

8 glasses, which I think equates to 4 pints or 2 liters.

I drink between six and eight glasses a day. These are big glasses probably hold 14 to 16 ounces. I very rarely drink anything other water, occasionally diet coke.

Do you mean just water?
I do drink about 6 cups of just water. I also drink about a pint of juice (100% juice, usually something like cranberry-apple) and a lot of milk.
Unfortunately for me, I love coffee. But, what I have been doing is I brew a 4-cup pot in the morning. Every time I get a cup, I add that much water. That means that by the end of the day I will have drank almost a half-gallon of coffee, sort of. It's pretty watery by then.

I know we're supposed to drink that much water but I seriously hate water!! Years ago when I was going to have a sonagram during my first pregnancy they had me drink this huge load of water right before we got there. I hated it so much I threw it all up in the car!
My usual liquid intake is a 20 oz cup of coffee in the morning which I sip on most of the day, 1-2 glasses of milk or chocolate milk with dinner, and a small mouthful of water to take my evening pill with. That's it! Occassionally I'll have a little Sprite, sweet tea, and I really like fruit juices but the kids guzzle those down so quickly I usually don't get any :(

HEY..!! As much as I know its not 8 cups but 8 "glasses"! of water is the required amount of water to humans per day!!!
And me I always finish about 2 bottels os 2lt. every day and can exceed that also.
Drinking water is a real healthy options than other drinks. I try to stick to nature.
But many time I just endup drinking hardly 5 glasses of water a day ..now that is not good but I try to maintain my water intake to 8 glasses.
You have a nice day and all the best with your survey!

I drink eight glasses a day. I like water and it is important to get what you need in a day. Walmart has a jug that holds a total of eight glasses of water and it is marked on the outside along with little pieces of information about what water does. It is a good way to get the amount of water you need. When you are done drinking that you have gotten the amount of water you are needing in a day.

hi, if you are drinking only recommended 8 cups a day then either you are staying in cold areas or you are neglecting your body requirements.
i drink atleast 2 litres of ordinary water (not from coolers or water filters) everyday. This makes me pass more urine. Drinking water is essential to control the body temperature & restore the loss of body water content by way of sweat.
you should flush your body internally with plenty of water.
