There is rampant fraud on EBay from selling fake and stolen goods to using fake accounts to artificially inflate ones feedback score. How can you protect yourself? should Ebay do more to weed out scammers?

when you buy something over the internet there are always a risk of being scammed and cheated.well i just being cheated recently.eventhough the sellers have so many postitve feedbacks but ebay suspended him.so i am in the process of claiming my refund from paypal.you cannot depend so much on the feedback as well.because some sellers have multiple accounts.then they bid on their won items and gave feedback to their selves.this make the buyers think they are honest seller.i seen a lot of similar case.so when i knew it i usually report to ebay so that they can investigate it.if you think they are two sellers which have similar things it means it is actually the same person having multiple accounts to cheat others

For one every one fake seller on Ebay there are a thousand genuine sellers on Ebay. Dont be put of by a few fake sellers selling fake products. If you fall victim to a fraudulent seller report them to Ebay and Paypal to see if you can get your money back.
You can protect yourself by checking the feedback of sellers and the time and date the feedback they received was set. If many posts of positive feedback were received by the seller in quick succession then they may not be genuine. Also look out for feedback messages that are identical to others on the users profile.

Hi
There are sooooooo many sellers on ebay and the count is increasing day by day .. The thing is sometimes ebay is unable to fine the genuinity of seller so this fraud things takes place.. I am also selling on ebay from 2 years now. Even my id was suspended and they asked for verification proofs just to ensure that I am a genuine seller and only after receiving the whole documents -- they verified it and then reinstated my account. I don't think a fraud person can live for so long on ebay.. I simply love ebay and can't think of any other great marketplace.
