Which is the worse evil: the calories in regular soda, or the chemicals in diet soda? Does caffeine play a positive or negative role?

Well I believe that regular soda is worse. I drink diet soda and I don't believe caffeine plays a good or bad role.

i just can't justify the calories that regular soda has without any nutritional value attached. i see that as the greater evil than a sweetener that might be bad for you if you drank multilple sodas every day for years

Soda's have a lot of sugar, which can't be healthy for you. On the other hand, certain sweeteners are know to damage your health severly.. some scientest even say you might get cancer from them. Cafffeine is addictive, but I haven't a clue if a drink has more calories when it has caffeine in it. I'd say go for regular soda's if you like them, just don't drink them often. I'd rather have one glass of regular soda then 10 glasses of diet soda.

i'm working to cut out soda altogether. i suppose some teas still have caffeine, but i'm limiting soda for the sugar. diet soda still has a lot of acid and suff that my body can work better without.
