Beach Trip, What should I bring for the kids?

We're finally going on a family trip in 8 days. We've never been able to go on a trip out of town before so I'm really excited. I have three boys, 7 (almost 8), 5, and 2. It's going to be me, my kids, my mom and my grandparents. My oldest son is going to ride in my grandparents car and spend the night in their room.
My question is this, I already have an idea of what to bring but it's possible I could forget something. We're spending two nights. What would you bring?

Take your smiles and just have fun.
Seriously though, sandcastles and family time on the beach is about all you will need. (sun cream, spades, beach blankets etc)
Enjoy it and have fun,

Clothes, toiletries, toys/books, emergency medication (in case one of kids gets ill eg painkillers/plasters things like that) buggy for smaller kids, snacks food and drink for in the car, favourite cuddle toys, towel (comes in handy in all sorts of situations) I like taking a wet washcloth or simular with me just to give quick cleans of mucky hands n faces, sun lotion if weather is hot. Am the type to be prepared for eventualities.

I think a lot of the people had some good ideas. Some I'm sure you already thought of. I would say bring a football too for your hubby and oldest to through around. My hubby and his best friend had fun throwing around a football when we went to the beach last year (our first trip we took alone). They were throwing it in the ocean and on the beach. Some other of they're favorite toys or movies for the nights in the hotel might be good to bring too. I hope you have loads of fun and know that I'm envying you :) I miss the beach.
I'm glad that you are finally getting to have your family vacation :)

Oddly enough, zipper style plastic bags of all sizes. Why? They are great for everything from dirty laundry to snacks, seashells and other beach items are easily tucked away in these and it keeps sand to a minimum. Baby wipes are also great; if you can't get to a bathroom to wash your hands, these come in handy to keep germs and dirt to a minimum. If you aren't bringing a camera, stop and get some disposable ones. If something happens to them it won't be a big deal.
That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. Have fun and be safe :]

What about waiting until you got there and going to a kmart or target like store to buy kites, sand pails and shovels, sand molds, frisbees? Also let each child pick out their own beach towel. So you don't have to carry this stuff with you. They may love shopping for this stuff. Non peishable snacks and juice boxes, wipes. Clothes tops and bottoms that go with everything. A hat and sweatshirt too. First Aid kit, sunscreen& bottled water. Go to any search engine and type in packing list +children. I am off to the beach in 5 days myself. I bought my nephew a Pirate beach towel for Easter and we have kite and bubbles shopping scheduled for the first day. We have planned our music choices as well. Have a Safe and Happy Trip!!!

Make sure you bring things for them to do in the car especially if its a long trip. Coloring books, crayons, books, snacks, cd's they like, or even there own cd or tape players so they all can listen to something different if they don't like what each other likes, ect.
If you are planning on spending any time on the beach, don't forget your kites and sand toys. Also any animals or blankets that they have to have to go to sleep.
Have fun on at the beach and enjoy yourslf.

I live at the beach, I would only take sun screen, for the hot burning rays, insect repellent for hungry mozzies and sandflys, towels, a beach blanket to sit on, and some kind of shading from the sun or else find a tree to sit under, and lastly a whole lot of food. Because salt air makes you very hungry, thats what I think anyway... Have a great day at the beach...
