Remember when you were a kid playing outside with your friends? What was your favorite game? I loved to jumprope and hide and seek and I loved my pogo stick, I could do that thing for hours it seemed.

We used to play a combination of tag and hide and seek. The person that was "it" would have to find you, but you could save yourself by trying to run away. If the person tagged you, then you were the next person to be "it". We used to get all the kids from the neighborhood together and play for hours. I really miss those carefree days!!

It's funny because now that I've "grown up", I'm raising my family in the same house that I grew up in. Some of the parents of the neighborhood kids we played with are still around, so I still see them once in a while. It's really weird to see everyone grown with families of their own.

I loved playing hide and seek with my brothers. It was loads of fun. When I played alone I would play hopscotch. It was great.

I used to play hopscotch with my friends a lot. Another game I loved was marbles....in the pot or in the circle. I was the champion in our neighborhood which ticked my older brother off. Kids used to tease him about not being able to beat his sister.

I always loved to play Hopscotch. We would draw the hopscotch board in the dirt and use a rock to pick up. I loved it.

Tonka trucks in my sand box. Kick ball in the street. Capture the flag in the dark. I spent alot of time outside when I was a kid. If it was nice, it was a safe bet my mom was sending us outside to play and away from the tv (and out of her hair so she could get things done). I spent alot of time on my poarch with friends too. Smetimes I'd have my guitar out there. Always been an outside kind of person I guess.

My favorite game in my neighborhood used to be "kick the can". We played it for hours....or at least until the curfew sounded (firehouse siren....was during WWII and everyone had to be in before dark because there was a blackout and all street lights were turned off. For those who don't know what kick the can was/is it goes something like this. Some is chosen to be "it". Two cans are placed one on top of the other. "It" counts to 25 and everyone else scatters. When a person is caught he goes to jail near the cans. The problem comes when someone goes back and kicks the cans freeing all those in the jailhouse. Actually the game rarely ever came to a end because it seems that the curfew blew first. We had a lot of fun though.
