Is there a point to the submitting tags to discussions and responses?

If there's an option to skip it, it leads me to believe it's of very little significance to take the time and tag your discussion. I mean, it's already in a particular subject heading/interest, so what's the point of the tags? Do you earn more per post if you tag each one?

I'm not positive but I don't think you earn anything from tagging. The only point I can see is maybe when someome does a keyword search it will bring more people to your discussion if it has those words in it.
I have to admit I don't always tag either, I get pretty lazy about it. If I knew they paid I would do it for sure. But since I don't know, I dont have tons of motivation to do it. I do try and do it with my discussions though. Usually I skip doing it on the responses.

That's a good question/point, in terms of if there's an increase in earnings if you decide to tag your discussions. I'm guessing that there isn't a direct increase in your earnings, but as a couple people pointed out below, I bet the tags do, or can drive more traffic to your discussions which may elicit more responses; thus, increasing your earnings that way. I could be wrong though. Generally, if I skip tagging, it isn't due to laziness, it's due to believing the necessary tagging has already occurred.

tagging helps to show the discussions in the search result when a keyword search is performed.so i will give more tags when i start a discussion.by that way there is a possibility that my discussion may get a look and even response. If i am responding to other discussion then i will make atleast one tag.If i am very much bored i will just skip.but it will be very very less.mostly will try to give one thus helping others also.

Thanks, this is another good point (that I'm betting is correct). Yes, I can see that the similiar discussions or tags may increase traffic to particular discussion; thus, I will continue to tag.

I usually tag my starting dicussions but skip the one's for responses. I don't know why, but that's what I do.

I generally do the same because the tags for responses probably don't change much, if at all, from the tags of the original discussions.
