From my experience....NO!
I first begin programming mainframe computers in 1976. Spent most of my work life after that was in front of a monitor. I am retired now and still in front of a PC screen.
There was a time it was thought it could be harmful but they changed the displays so that would no longer be a problem. I know quite a few other people that were at it as long as I and never seem to have any problems.
The greatest risk you run is becoming anti-social. The computer can do that to you. It is such a huge draw that it can become habitual.

Theres very minimal risk's being infront of your computer in a long period of time, and the most common is eye strain. If your in front of your pc in average lets say 8 hours a at least let your eyes rest for a least an hour during that interval. Or you can wear glasses to protect your eyes.
