This is going to be kinda long...but please read!! (There's a Happy Ending) :) Today has been just nuts! I was playin around online this afternoon, graphics and stuff...when it finally happened!!! I've heard of this happening to other people, but that's all I had ever done until today.
Ironically enough, I had just got done saying that I didn't believe Friday the 13th to be cursed. My twins were born on Friday the 13th...I don't consider that to be bad luck, especially considering I had the quickest and easiest Twin delivery ever! lol.
But it happened! Out of nowhere....
My Computer CRASHED!
I went to restart the computer, and it refused to restart. Me being the panicky person that I am...took about 10 friggin seconds to decide to hit F10 and Recover my System back to it's original purchase date!!!!!
Now I knew that was going to lose everything....but for some reason, in this heated moment, I didn't think it would hurt me that bad! It was already too late to back things up on Disk...so what else could I do?
EVERYTHING IS GONE!
Big deal you say? Big deal my husband says? Yea, it's a big deal to me! I am into graphic design, I designed my own PSP tutorial site! To lose everything that I had been working on for the past 3 years, CRUSHED ME!
Not to mention all of my family pictures that were saved on the computer...all of our music! GONE!
I know, too much stuff on the ol' 2004 Compaq, but did it have to die just like that? Did it have to take everything away??
But you Wanna KNow What?????
I feel blessed right now. Thus the reason for the tears.
I went to the MSN group that I am gratefully a part of (for PSP stuff) and told them what happened. Now, I've been with these great people for almost 4 years now! And they have just brought me to tears with how eager and quickly they all started working to help me get most of my stuff back!!! I mean, you just never think you mean that much to people, especially online...and then something like happens and even though the beginning sucks...it turns out teaching us something. Brightening not only our day, but our lives!
Who would thought?
Sorry so Long...But I really had to tell the story to be able to share this moment.
No matter what happens in this life....no matter how bad it may seem...I believe that if you are willing to see it...willing to accept it...There IS something to be learned and there IS a light at the end of the tunnel!

Man proposes, but god disposes. Whatever has happened is happened for good. whatever going to happen will happen for good.

You know, some cultures consider the 13 of Friday to be a lucky day. I like your viewpoint, and may I suggest something for you MsJessi? You could buy Xdrive space (online hard drive space) to back up your files. That way if there is a crash you could get back important pictures and files. Their website is http://www.xdrive.com. You may want to try it, or you could always buy an external hard drive. I wish you the best and I think that many people on line are very nice.

Sorry you lost your computer and information, but glad you have friends helping you to recover most of it that is a blessing. Friday the 13th is just another day unless you want to give it credence. It has never bothered me. I have never had trouble on any Friday the 13th. My husband proposed to me 37 years ago on Friday the 13th so it has been good for me.

I am sorry with what happened to your computer. Like you, my work is basically inside my computer system that I don't know what will I do if the pc will crashed. That is why i do backup all the time, just incase. Hopefully you can still get the files. If you can bring your hard disk to a computer repair, there are times that some files can be restored.
And you are right, no matter how things look bad but if you just have a positive outlook, everything will be fine.

From your discussion I understand that we should not lose our hope.........things will become alright... if we keep patience and try and try again......we will succeed at last.

Yes, no matter how far off it may seem at times, theres always a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm glad that you didnt lose everything that yoy thought you lost. There are alot of good people out there if you have the patients to wait for them and know were to look. And I'm glad that you got your computer up and running again. Now, Back up your stuff onto a disk before it happens again and good luck!
