Are you influenced by commercials ?

Do you let commercials influence your shopping behaviour ? Let's say : would you change your normal toothpaste, because you saw a commercial for another one ? I ask this because my daughters are very impressed over ads. They will not eat their morning sandwiches because they like cornflakes, and if they want a drink, it HAS TO BE the flavour they saw on TV. I myself have my habbits and don't want to change them over a stupid 20 sec ad....
