what a simple question and yet what an incredible amount of wisdom we can get from it! have you ever asked yourself this question? does it sound like new-age crap to you? xD to me this is THE key to become a better human being, just because I want to, I want to improve myself as a living being and in order to do this I need to know "what" actually I am, because I may know what I want to become but to reach that goal we need a starting point. also knowing yourself helps a lot to understand others, I'm really bad at getting the others feelings but since we humans are at the basis essentially similar this question has shed some light to this matter too... I wish we people cared more about ourselves from time to time, but not as we care now that is purely in a material way, I think we should care more about our inner self, that is as real as your own thoughts.
