I was able to watch the movie before I read the book. I love the movie. It's such a simple yet touching love story. After reading the book, I noticed the changes that they made to the movie and I think it was done to kind of give a modern touch to the characters. I love the book more because I can read the details but I will not stop me from watching the movie again and again. =)

Me also, I watched the movie first before I got to read the book and yes, the changes were done maybe so that the movie won't be too old for its target viewers or something. I don't know. But the book was really moving. :)

The book is very detailed. When you read you imagine the scenes.. you wish there is a movie of that story in the book. And then there is! You watch it and then you'll say in the book it says this while in the movie it didn't happen or what is said in the book didn't exactly happen in the movie.. So you get disappointed or soemthing. You even get confused at times. I don't really know which is better. BUt when you read the book it will take you long while if you justw atch the movie it would take two hours or less so watching the movie would be less time consuming. But we all know that many loves to read. So both are fine.

Using my imagination is like one of my favorite hobbies when I read books so that's why I guess I prefer the book. Lol.

I gave you another + rating honey. I love to read and watch movies. But, reading for me is better, as it lets your imagination form opinions of characters, and the story is more in depth then a movie can be.

Thanks again! I added you as my friend also, I hope you'll accept it. Maybe having more firends here can help with my discussions responses. Anyway, I agree that the story in books are more in depth than that of the movies. Maybe because they try to make the movie MORE interesting and sometimes ther are parts in the book where it is better left for us to imagine.

well, id like watching in a movie. Because it becomes more realistic and the whole story is very concrete. At leats, you will never imagine, how does such situation looks like or do like. Sometimes, we have been carried away when we see and watch over the big screen rather than making our wild imagination on what's happening over the book.

This really shows that everyone is unique and we prefer different things. I agree, sometimes movies really capture something from the book that we haven't really thought about while reading it. Thank you kyuttytzeh! Take care!

Movie, coz we can see the actor or actress express the character. We can't see it in the book, we just imagine if we read a book. I'de like watching movie a lot.

Are you serious? Almost always the book is the best. You build up the mental pictures and it is always different and slightly disapointing when you get to see the movie is not quite how you imagined it. Also if a movie was truly made to represent the way a book is written it would be about 6-8 hours long so there is always missing details in the film version. The book is better for me, but I still want to see the movie anyway lol so I can make my mind up on both.

Yes, almost all the movies that were based on novels are not as good as the book but in the case of the A Walk to Remember, the movie did a good job it's not at all disappointing. :)

It has big difference between the two. I like reading the book version than the film but if I didn’t read the book yet I prefer to watch the movie then. Sometimes the book tells so much that it will upset you when you see the movie lacking of scenes.

Well, reading a book allows me to use my imagination more. I see and feel a lot more of the story since I am involved. However, watching a movie, the scene and setting has been created for me and I have no control over it. If the movie produced runs too far from what I imagined... I won't like the movie. So, in many ways, I prefer reading the book.

I've already saw all the movies about his books and i always got a bit dissapointed with it. I think they change a lot. In one movie, i even think, that the story lost the magic. While your reading you imagine everything, and watching the movie... it seems it's another story.

I like the books better because there is more to the story. The movies are nice to paint the picture.

I liked the movie a whole letter better in the book. Maybe it's because I saw the movie first before I read the book, but I liked how in the movie that Landon was portrayed as an average guy, money wise he was no different then anyone else in the town. In the book they kind of put him up on a pedastool because his family has money and jamie's does not. Plus I liked the fact that in the movie his father was a doctor and helped jamie out, opposed to the book where his father was a congressman.
