i go for 300 as 300 is an absolutely terrific movie. the attitude, the valour the spartans display send a chill down my spine. so much to keep their honour. they challenged and even demured a person who projected himself as god. i think they were bogged down by the wrong priests who just had no respect for these warriors. my personal favorite line in the movie when the king says : SPARTANS NEVER RETREAT!!!!!!!!!!. the greatest sequence when the king as a young lad fights the beast and also , when he kicks the intruder into the well..

If compared for their skills, i'll go for Achilles. But for bravery and honour it's definitely King Leonidas.

I feel Troy was way better than 300 in all aspects. Although Troy was helped by a great historical story, the way the story was picturised was awesome. And i also feel that Brad Pitt's character was superbly portrayed, the kind of portrayal that would not have suited any other actor. Also his acting was great.
300 had great graphics but it was more like an animation movie rather than a real movie. The story seemed far away from reality, the picturisation made it even farther.
Overall i would give 5/5 to Troy and around 3.5/5. Hence Troy is the comfortable winner among the two movies.

I prefer Troy than 300 but prefer Gladiator than Troy. I find Troy to have more human drama than 300 whose main saving grace is its remarkable, gigantic and well executed fight scenes. It has the element of good drama too but is drowned by too much emphasis given to the fight scenes. It is not the movie's fault of course. It's plot made sure that the fight scens to be staged should overwhelm the viewers and it succeeded enormously.
