It has been a long, cold winter and my hands are raw and cracked. I have a Mary Kay handcare kit which includes a beeswax emollient for night use, a gel scrub to exfoliate, and a lighter day time moisturizer. My hands are wrecked though, and it isn't doing the job.
What do you use to moisturize your hands when they get very dry? Do you have any special tricks or products?

I do I do I do have one. It's a natural recipe. I tried and a few other people tried and they found it very good. I wish I could copy and paste, but I will just type it all out then and it's really easy too:
Almond Butter Hand Treatment
Ingredients: 1 Tablespoon of Almond Oil & 1 Cup of Butter
Method: Mix well. Before bed, massage mixture into hands, then cover with white cotton gloves. Wear all night while sleeping.
It almost doesn't cost anything but it does moisturize hands very nicely.

I bet that smells really nice, too. Do ou mean regular old butter like you spread on toast?

Yes regular butter will work fine. It's very moisturizing because you do it overnight, covered by gloves and that enhances the absorption.

I use petrolium jelly. Spread generous amount to the problem areas and then cover it with cotton cloth (cotton gloves for your hands). Do this every night, before you sleep. Sure it helps because I've tried that already. You could also use petrolium jelly as your lip gloss if your lips are chapping.
During Day time, I use Vaseline Extra Strength Lotion with Vitamin E.

I use petroleum jelly and Derm Clinic's Hand & Body lotion with Collagen & Urea. I mix the two, apply to my hands then massage my hands for a few minutes. It works for me. Sometimes, i also use yoghurt mixed with lemon juice. You can also use coconut oil. It moisturizes your hands for days.
