Can you record with web cam?

I don't know much about these things but came to know that you can shoot photographs and record with the help of web cam.

yes, you can record with a webcam, u just have to get the right computer program like "Active Camera". And it can be used for motion detection and it will start to record. Its a pretty cool program. I'd suggest it if you own a camera
