Women are said to be more diplomatic and less aggressive than men. If they were in charge of politics would they be less likely to declare a war? I don´t really think so. In my opinion women are less violent, because that´s the way most of them were educated. Please share your thoughts.

Personally I don't think women are necessarily less aggressive than men - I'm more aggressive than a lot of men I know - but I just think we show our aggression differently. My first instinct when I read your question was to say a resounding yes! Of course it would be a better place. Then I remembered Maggie Thatcher when she was the British Prime Minister during the 1980's and that made me hesitate. For those that do remember her time in office they will probably know where I'm coming from on this! That aside though I think on balance the world would be a better place. What women are generally good at is talking AND listening (contrary to what many men think we don't just talk!) and identifying with others. Put two men who don't know each other in a room together for 15 minutes and they will talk about the weather, sport, the news, maybe their cars. Put two women in the same situation and they may also talk about some of these things but they will do it in a personal context, ie. relate it to their own lives. When the men leave the room they will know very little, if anything, about the other person but the women will usually leave with some insight into the other persons life. I also think women are generally better at finding common ground or reaching a compromise which is a skill that seems to be sadly lacking in most world leaders at the moment.

Not really. Good leadership requires the presence of both just like running the family. Each of us plays an important role in this world. One is nothing without the other. Having this two sexes ruling the world would be the best formula in having a better place to live.

The British were been ruled by Queens and they went to war with the spanish and france in the 1700-1800's and so have many other countries. The last woman i can think of that declared war was Margret Thatcher who went ot war wiht Argentina It all come down to how much you want something and what you are willing to do for it. It has nothing to do with the education if you are attacted you will fight with what you have.

I remember the "iron lady". Not everything depends on education. I agree with you there. What I meant to say is that women are "generally" less aggressive, because they were educated that way. Thanks for your response.

Maybe women are "generally" better at choosing what they are going to fight for. Thanks for your comment.

yes some are less aggressive but i have seen and met some women who are jsut as agressive as some men and are jsut as confontational. I thinkit is right down the middle with that one but think women are better at chossing the battles they ar4e gonna fight.

Robin Williams once said that if women were in charge, we wouldn't have wars because we'd just make each other feel bad for awhile, then make-up. LOL I don't think that women are really less aggressive-we just go about things differently. As to declaring war? I'm not so sure about that one either...look at all the "family feuds"...most of which started because a woman got her toes stepped on. No, I really don't think it would be that much different.

I think it will be a better and peaceful world if women ruled the world. Women are better at communication and understanding. Being mothers in the their right, they kinder and more caring. They also have more training in problem solving (from raising kids). Men are quick to use their fist, quick tempered and are easily affected by hormone levels. I really believe that one of these days, this is going to be Amazonian world. All men are going to kick my *ss now lol

Women aren't less aggressive, i have many friends off course girls who are really aggressive. But they are against wars and stuff. Women can be violent when circumstances force them to be be so.

Excellnet posting dear. ++ I rated you for it again. If women ruled, I am not sure. Some women in some countries do rule, and they are as harsh as men. So, it would have to be seen to know. If a women is strong enough to rule, she may be as aggressive in nature as man is. God bless ya, hugs, M&M

Women may be less violent, in general, but get them going and they are more vicious. Another factor about female violence is their generally smaller frame and less applicable strength. I do think, though, that women have more intuitive ability to negotiate, if they choose to.

Maybe women are more vicious than men because they can´t defend themselves with physical violence. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

It is true that most women are less violent, but there are women who are more violent than me. Woman who are in politics tend to exhibit a strong character and I would think they are on par with man. Not everyone can rule, man or woman likewise. It is the outstanding one who stands out. Look at the Chinese history, the first Lady Empress. Are they really that meek not to declare a war? Personally, it does not matter whether it is man or woman in charge of politics, as long as they can rule well, they are good rulers or leaders.

I didn´t mean to say that women are less violent than men. What I mean is: If they were in charge of world politics would they be less likely to declare a war? I don´t really think so, which means that I agree with you. However, still now depending on the culture and the traditions where they live, women are brought up to be feminine and aggressiveness is generally considered a male attitude. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Yes, women are generally kinder and more compassionate than men, I totally agree with you guys on that, but I think we shouldn't be too quick to assume that they can make the world a more peaceful place to live in if they become leaders; We are yet to see a female version of Hitler and Saddam. Everyone is unique, some women are more aggressive than some men, what if that particular woman happened to be a leader of a very strong country, that would be worse than any dictator I think. Women are caring, yes, but they are able to diss out a lot of things too when they get too emotional. We shouldn't be sexist and I think anyone is fit to be a leader, be it a man or a woman; The only thing that matters is if that particular person is capable of promoting peace and prosperity - and generalizing wouldn't help much with the choosing. Remember: almost every human is capable of expressing anger and resentment, and a woman is no exception to that. peace!

True. A woman is no exception. Wonder what a female version of Hitler, Stalin or Saddam would be like?

I would reallu like to say that the world would be a far better place if ruled by women but unfortunately judging by some past examples I think you might be right and this would not be the result! Maybe if it was ruled by wmen on mylot it would make more sense! xxx

I really liked your discussion and share same feeling for it.If women would have ruled the world then it would not be so fantastic place to live in.Their way of thinking of a situstion is totally different. They are not at all less violent than men.It would not be correct to say they are less educated but they don't have a broad sense of thinking like men. They are also good but when it comes to rule the world they are not the choice.

Admitting that women are less aggressive than men,i don't think it's an perfect way to govern a country or the world. For that, i'm deeply impressed by the fact that several women sit around to solve some problems, which lasting a long time without reaching many points to the core of the thing. Perhaps they talk too much, sometimes. My personal view, willing to hear from you, everyone!

I didn´t mean to say that women are less aggressive than men, far from it. What I was trying to state is that women are very often "brought up" to be less aggressive than men, due to tradition and culture. Thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate it.

I think if women ruled the world, it could definitely be a better place if we get the right woman in there to do the job. I think a woman would be alot more compassionate to the needs of the people. I think they would still declare war, but it would have to be for something that is very valid. I think it would also be well-planned out also. I think she would do everything in her power to use as less violence as possible. I think women were raised to have a soft heart and share their emotions and feelings with others. They are taught to love and to protect with their good heart.

women are conditioned to love and give up things for others from a very young age i think thats what u meant by 'education' but yes the world wud be a better if women ruled b'cos they wud never declare war that easily..they always think about consequences, men are more like and shoot and then talk and women talk and then maybe think of shooting

Yes, that´s exactly what I meant by "education". I meant women all over the world, not just in the occidental world, where girls in this day and age receive more or less the same education as boys. Very good answer. Thank you.
