Could I have a case of food poisoning?

Not to be totally indelicate, but can anybody tell me what the exact symptoms are? I have been feeling really sick to my stomach all day, but I haven't actually thrown up.
I feel like whatever I have eaten is sitting undigested in my stomach and it wating to come back up. I am into about my sixth hour of this and think I might have had some potato salad that was spoiled.
Have you been food poisoned? Is there any tell tale way to know for sure whether I have been or not? Can it be food poisoning if I am not vomitting (yet)?

i've had it once..and i hope to NEVER have it again.
i was literally sitting on the toilet holding a bowl,i was so sick (sorry for the visual).
my stomach burned,i had chills,and couldn't keep anything down.i was also headachy,but that may have been from being sick.
any product with egg can be a risk,they're notorious for it.

Whatever it was, I hope to never have it again, either. I think it must have been viral, because it is now in the school as well.

Someway, somehow, i would always get hit by food poisoning. Diarrhea is one symptom although you could get the feeling of being 'bloated'.
But my advise to you is, get a proper diagnosis from a doctor 'cos you might end up with something serious if its bacterial infection (like what happened to me). You can't be absolutely sure when it comes to identifying illnesses.

Thanks. I am feeling pretty rotten. I think I will go lay down and see if that improves the situation for me. This is no fun!
