My husband and i use a program called network magic it works we were networked in no time and i believe the cost is like $20.00 im not sure because we are still on our free trial, It is very easy to install and to use hope this is some help to you as i know how fustrating it can be.

I have a wireless network set up for communicating with two other pc's around my house, no wires in sight. So thats the most modern option and i play online games everyday so thats the best solution. Wireless Network is the way to go. I have a laptop, and I can access the internet anywhere in the house, in the garden, and even in my car outside our house. If both computers have Ethernet Connection, It is possible to connect one pc to the other via Ethernet cable, although this is not the easiest option.
