Does anyone know how to get hold of games companies to get a job in testing game

Do you get paid for testing games or at least know of someone who does hwo did you/them get into it and is it all its cracked up to be. Ok i am a total gamer and have been since i could pick up a joystick and i have heard many a story of how people get paid to play and test games to me this sounds like a dream come true and I am really truly wanting to at least give it a try but for some reason I just cant get any responce from any of the companies i have tried I dont know if it is the way i am asking them or if they get about a million emails exactly the same everyday. I do know that there must be something out there to get the ball rolling so please if anyone has any information or links,emails,postal addreses please let me know.
