I think you just go to "edit your preferances" and there should be something there that will help you figure it out.
It is not that difficult and is very easily done.

Apparently, I don't have any pictures on my computer so now what do I do?

go to "edit your preferances" and then browse for a picture off of your computer that you would like to use..
