I have a male 1 yr. Chihuahua who won't stop marking!! I really don't want to neuter him, and I've never had this problem with my big dogs, but I just can't get control of this situation. Any suggestions?

Mine is 5 yrs old. He was bad about marking his territory. He was really bad when I left him at home to go to work and so on. I just make sure I take him out alot. I also got a 2nd dog to keep him company because I thought he was peeing in the house to let me know he was mad. Since I have been making hiom go out and stay out more he pees on stuff every now and then but not as bad as before. They also make training pants for dogs. I saw some listed on ebay. Its kinda like the "B*#ches Britches" for when the female is in heat. Hope this helps.

When I go to work I have to put my little Jens in a crate. If I didn't there would literally be pee all over my kitchen. But the thing is that he doesn't just mark if I'm not home, it's all the time, and on everything. He does have "friends." I have a Cane Corso, which happen to be his best bud despite his huge size, and 2 more Chihuahuas, a tiny female, and a huge neutered male. I guess it might have to do with the female that I have.... I just wish I could "train" him out of it. The training pants are an idea, but I'm not so sure. Do they even make them that small (he's only 3 lbs.).

I have no suggestions but I wish I did. I have a 7 month old female who isn't fixed yet and she is so stubborn. She will refuse to potty outside and it's starting to drive me crazy.

I have a total of 3 Chis and I know that since they're small they can't hold it in as long as my bigger dogs. But with my little guy, Jens, it's not that he has to go potty, he's actually marking, all over the place. Your female is still young, have you thought about maybe litter box training her?

I breed chihuahuas and have two males. If they are any males in our outside they will mark. It's a male thing and No way of stopping it,unless he is the ONLY male in your house hold. Even if you get him fixed he might still do it!
If you don't have a male inside have you in the passed few mths? They smell alot better then us.
Marking and peeing is not the same and locking him up want help it go away ,it's nature for them, just have the cleaning spray handy and tell him NO, but it don't help much...
