Yes I've had it happen but they weren't even bad words. One was p.rick as in they p.ricked their ears forward, it was part of a poem called "The Rainbow Bridge". It wouldn't allow it but it will with the period put in there. The other was the corret term for a male's private parts. The censors allow some words but not others. It doesn't make sense at all to me on it.

Yup, I tried to tell a joke about painted eggs and without thinking I used another word for rooster and as it seems to have a double meaning, I could not use it.
For us who are not native English speakers, it is good that we get help so we donĀ“t post anything that could be interpreted as offensive or sexually oriented.
I like this strict policy, there is too much bad language in the Internet..

Ohhh it is so aggravating at times! One night I typed a lengthy answer and it wouldn't post. When I tried to go 'back' to see what the problem was, the screen was white. This happened several times. I finally typed it first on notepad so that I could at least copy/paste once I figured out what was wrong. I want you to know that I never did figure out what the problem was! There were not body parts mentioned, no curse words...I still don't know! Another time I tried typing peni$ and it wouldn't take that word. How ridiculous that we can't call body parts by their correct anatomical names!

Haha, that's quite funny. We all make mistakes though. It hasn't happened to me yet but I'm still quite new to mylot.

I'm sure they have their spy bots all set to jump on certain words.
For instance if you wrote sh**, it would not be picked up, yet everyone knows what it means.
I would not worry too much about it. It is just an automatic responder of some sort.

I have not had the problem on MyLot, but I did mis-type the word suit one time. I was working for a police department and I used to type up what was stolen the day before that went in a report to all the detectives, and instead of snow suits, I typed snow s*its. Well, they all had a good laugh, but I was so embarassed.
Also today I noticed a discussion about the political parties, and the person said are you an elephant or a jackazz, so I am guessing that word is not allowed either. Of course people find their way around it, cleverly.

Usually mylot highlights the word in red at the bottom and ask you to replace the word with a suitable word. I do agree that such words would not be used here as this is a family site.

Yes, I have. I was ranting in one of my replies and wrote bad words like s+up!d and b@$t@rd. When I hit submit button the page didn't change so I hit "post response" again because I thought it was just my internet connection but still it wouldn't budge. Then I notice red words saying that myLot doesn't allow those words so I had to retype my reply or at least change those words.
There are also words that don't seem to mean bad but I think they are racially considered taboo so I'm not going include it here.

I accidentally mispelled bike one time and it
stopped me. I decided to use the longer
version of bicycle just in case.
I have been more careful since then.
Yes, the MyLot filters do pick up lots
of almost bad words and I don't think anyone
really means to use them.
Then again, some stuff does slip by, especially
when people use the asterisk sign on their words.
You still know what they mean.

I haven't but almost. I think it was yesterday or earlier this morning. I was responding to a post about what wakes you up in the morning. I was going to write alarm clock and good thing I noticed I spelled clock without the L. Corrected it immediately. I was shocked at myself. Lol.
